Get FO3; it's got more game per dollar.
Metro is a linear shooter, that will end. FO3 is a great, expansive open world game that's got endless amounts of modifications for it that makes it even greater. It's not really even a question, FO3 far surpasses this.

If you notice at the library bit they briefly mentioned the book 'Roadside Picnic' which is what the Stalker series was based off of. I thought that was a nice little homage.

avoid jumping and running while you have the mask on
here's a story from my first game - I had about 3/4 of one filter and had to run to the library section where I was given some.
