Two comments.
One, I don't know any Christian who thinks it's her fault or would try to force her to confess. Secondly, the Old Testament actually has a provision for rape...the victim is supposed to be pitied in that case.
Shows how much those guys knew.

Yea guys lets edit the ancient scriptures to better fit modern society!
I never understood why people still believe in religion. Oh well.
These people give rape.... I mean religion a bad name.
Hurf durf one church is full of assholes that must mean all organized religion is full of assholes

Well the pope is a pretty big asshole.
You've got quite a few cases of priests being covered up by the church, then you have this case which was done by someone with a respected title.

Stone disobedient children to death.
Sell your daughters.
Steal if it's for Jesus.
There are some things I don't like about civilised countries. Like how we dont drag people like this through the dirt anymore.
This.
although I'm somewhat religious I say, fuck all religions that start and/or support wars over religion...
That would be the lot of 'em, 'cept the Scilons and other small cults.
This is one example of why I don't do religion.
Love thy neighbour.

If it's in the country she's pardoned. If it's in a city/town and she screams for help she's pardoned, otherwise she's considered to have enjoyed it and adultered. Then Jesus comes along and things get a bit complicated...
Even though I'm an atheist, I'm fucking tired of people saying, "OMG OMG, RELIGION SUCKS LOL". This story has little to do with religion, if it was her teacher and was forced to say it in class, people wouldn't butthurt nearly as much. Yes, it was a horrible thing, but him being a preacher doesn't really affect it. Yeah, she wouldn't of been raped if they hadn't sent her there, but he probably would have raped someone else. It also hasn't caused that many wars, almost all "Religious Wars" have another reason. So shut the fuck up, and stop arguing over the internet.
Implying if a teacher made this happen we wouldn't all rage.
:colbert:
Religion

I'll find the passage for you, in the mean time let's have a look at how god has a thing for hating the disabled and ugly shall we? :buddy:
18For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, one who is blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long, 19or one who has a broken foot or a broken hand, 20or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a blemish in his eyes or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles. 21No descendant of Aaron the priest who has a blemish shall come near to offer the Lord’s offerings by fire; since he has a blemish, he shall not come near to offer the food of his God. 22He may eat the food of his God, of the most holy as well as of the holy. 23But he shall not come near the curtain or approach the altar, because he has a blemish, that he may not profane my sanctuaries;
Wow, god hated folk with crushed bollocks.
What a cunt!!
I'd assume it was the church who footed the $100,000 bail.
Current pope was the one who passed the orders to silence everything about these rapes until something like 15 years after the victim is 18. Just wtf.
Religion is a backwards practice that has no place in modern society. We really need to move on seriously, religion is holding us back and enabling people to get away with horrible things.
I want to sink my ankle into that man's face. Same with all the other lunatics who aided him.
Fucking religion, you can call me ignorant but it's true. Fucking religion.
The part where it says you should stone the rape victim?
23 If a man happens to meet in a town a virgin pledged to be married and he sleeps with her,
24 you shall take both of them to the gate of that town and stone them to death—the girl because she was in a town and did not scream for help, and the man because he violated another man's wife. You must purge the evil from among you.
:downs:
This is why she should have just stayed home.
No one can force you to go to church.

They talk about killing people a lot in the Bible.
Kind of strange since I think one of the commandments says otherwise.
the church raped her of her dignity.
uh
haha oh wow
Damn...
People hide behind religion like it is a fucking shield.
It's all christianity, all insanity.
Dumb, there is a huge difference between this church and most other churches. I used to go to church when I was a wee lad and all the people there were nice people, including the priests etc. I'm fairly sure none of them were fundamentalists/rapists.
Religion: Keep the world stuck in the dark ages.
Well actually religion is a large part of what pulled us out of the dark ages, you could say.
[editline]03:40PM[/editline]
Not really saying it has much of a place in modern society, just saying that religion is keeping us in the dark age is dumb
