Shouldn't have apologized and just stuck with what he said. One thing that Government class has taught me is that going back on your own words in politics of any kind (personal politics such as this included) makes you look worse than if you just stuck with the nasty words you said.

When you pay for a service, you should expect that service to be 100% satisfying. She wasn't satisfied, and felt she deserved her money back. You wouldn't like it if an employee at Gamestop sold you a used copy of a game even though you paid the full price for a brand new copy of the game. This is essentially her problem.
I would be pissed if I got a reply like that.
