• CONTROVERSY! "Air Force One" Being Used By The "President" To Travel Between States.
$180,000 isn't a lot of money considering the overall expenditures and revenue of the government. Mr. Fox News, you can do math, but so can I. If 180,000 dollars is how much it cost per week, then it costs 9,360,000 year to operate (and I'm assuming he used really high costs, so I'll say this is the worst case scenario.). If the Air Force One was completely scrapped, and the President started taking Greyhound buses around the country, then we would get all that money back, and I bet that's fox's motive behind this. We want our money back. Okay. Since there's no real way to tell who paid for what when it comes to taxes, we'll just give it back evenly (and it should average out anyways). So, some more simple math. $9,360,000 spend a year, divided by 300,000,000 (that's assuming 12 million people don't pay taxes, which is probably not true.) equals $0.0312. Wow fox, you made a news story because we spend 3.12 cents a year so that the president can travel around the country and the world on his plane.
It's $181,000 an hour according to his math. This, I honestly doubt - I can understand staff and fuel costs, but $181k may be a little inflated, I think. Regardless - If he's right about it being a million dollar trip - why was this never a problem when previous presidents went on flights to battleground states?
Snip
A talk show called Fox & Friends owned by Fox News.
You've yet to present a valid point. You just keep going "LOL GOP" and "LOL FOX NEWS".
Yes, but it's not part of their news report; it's a separate show where they have some people on to discuss the news and offer their opinions
So does that suddenly make it more credible than the rest of Fox News? [editline]27th January 2012[/editline]
You've yet to present a valid point. You just keep going "LOL GOP" and "LOL FOX NEWS".
You're just as bad for having to point out that I haven't presented a valid point when I wasn't even trying to debate anything.
So does that suddenly make it more credible than the rest of Fox News?
...no. You're obviously lost here. My point was that this isn't news bias, this is just some guy's opinion.
You'd think this would be an Onion article... rofl Protocol7 spam rating RATE ME BITCH BRING IT
...no. You're obviously lost here. My point was that this isn't news bias, this is just some guy's opinion.
If you honestly feel like someone on a Fox News political talk show doesn't share the opinions of Fox News, then I feel sorry for you. I feel even more sorry for the president that people have to constantly bitch about things he does that presidents were free to do in the past.
fun fact: air force one isn't actually called air force one unless the president is onboard tune in tomorrow for another fun fact from jerry

Why should he be allowed to spend tax payer money to fund his political campaign?
You just keep rambling incoherently about unrelated nonsense and fail to answer questions directed at you. Why should he be allowed to spend tax payer money to fund his political campaign?
I never said he should.
hold it I have the answer to this entire Fox News argument shut up
I'm pretty sure ANY aircraft with the potus on board is assigned the callsign "Air Force One" for the duration
fun fact: air force one isn't actually called air force one unless the president is onboard tune in tomorrow for another fun fact from jerry
I heard somewhere the LBJ filled Air Force One with tons of expensive trinkets while he was president. Apparently on his last flight in the plane he stole everything that wasn't nailed down and some stuff that actually was.
I'm pretty sure ANY aircraft with the potus on board is assigned the callsign "Air Force One" for the duration
It took me a few seconds to realize that "potus" meant the President of the US. :v:
The only time they said anything worth any value is when they talked about bronies.
Woah, when was this?
Is it just me, or does FOX do nothing but sit on their asses all day and just LOOK for shit to bitch about? Honestly, I want Obama himself to tell these fuckers to get a REAL job.
Is it just me, or does FOX do nothing but sit on their asses all day and just LOOK for shit to bitch about? Honestly, I want Obama himself to tell these fuckers to get a REAL job.
Then he'd be violating the 1st Amendment.
Is it just me, or does FOX do nothing but sit on their asses all day and just LOOK for shit to bitch about? Honestly, I want Obama himself to tell these fuckers to get a REAL job.
The same can be said about the source in the OP as well. :v:
The same can be said about the source in the OP as well. :v:
I don't know. They do have this article: http://mediamatters.org/blog/201201260009
That's because Fox News isn't simply offering a rightward take on the day's events, or innocently providing Republican-friendly commentary, of course. It's leading an exhausting, day-in, day-out attack campaign against Obama, Democrats and all their liberal allies. (Real or imagined.) Its relentless, paranoid crusade falls well outside the mainstream of American politics, which is why the Republican primary season, so proudly sponsored by Fox News, is shaping up to be such an embarrassment.
Which, surprise surprise, I was joking about in my first few posts. It's the problem with today's two-party system. They're relying more on demonizing the other side and saying "HERE'S WHAT I'D DO INSTEAD OF X" and not dealing with the big problems. Press today just annoys me. I resort to BBC for my news nowadays because they seem to be the least batshit insane about politics.
That's because [insert news site or channel's name here] isn't simply offering a [insert ideology here] take on the day's events, or innocently providing [insert political party here]-friendly commentary, of course. It's leading an exhausting, day-in, day-out attack campaign against [insert politician here], [insert the political party they disagree with here] and all their [insert ideology they disagree with here] allies. (Real or imagined.) Its relentless, paranoid crusade falls well outside the mainstream of American politics, which is why the [insert political party here] primary season, so proudly sponsored by [insert news site or channel's name here], is shaping up to be such an embarrassment.
I think that's the media's fault as much as it is the two-party system's fault. You're right, they do nothing but bicker like children these days, but when they actually have something intelligent to say, the media doesn't hear it. It's buried in the endless political rhetoric, ad hominem, "He said this back then remember!!!???" reports.
That's why you don't use The Colbert Report or talk shows as legitimate sources of information. They want viewers and ratings, so they spin stuff a lot.
Democratic president spotted in mysterious flying machine powered by black magic, more at 11
That's why you don't use The Colbert Report or talk shows as legitimate sources of information. They want viewers and ratings, so they spin stuff a lot.
uh first of all the colbert report is a satirical show, second it's actually a more legit source of information than CNN, FOX, or MSNBC, third you are dumb
uhh no shit why is this such a bad thing every president does this all the time
Fixed.
Press today just annoys me. I resort to BBC for my news nowadays because they seem to be the least batshit insane about politics.
I rarely ever use American-based media outlets when searching for news on my own, because it can be hard to tell just how much of a bias - either left or right - a particular source has. In fact, when searching for my own news, I use BBC more or less exclusively - it's credible, it's objective, it's very well-known, and it's not American.
and so sensationalists all around america took up arms and revolted against barack obama for his unparalleled abuse of presidential power and clear authoritarian oppression in flying his plane around
It's ironic he's fund raising, and it costs that much, but come one... has this ever been brought up before with any other president? I'm not an Obama fan but this is just plain dumb and they are trying very hard to attack him at basically every level.
That piece of shit. Do you see how he walks around the white house like he owns the place or something? What a socialist asshat.
