have you tried sticking iphones up your bum? the form factor is all off
it's also easier to mold cheap plastic to the shape of your anus. aluminum.. not so much
I guarantee 90% of the people who mock the mobile gaming world play games on their phone every single day.
Yes, I play games on my phone, but they're only good for when you have literally nothing else to do, like waiting on a bench.
I can only stomach them for 10-15 minutes at a time.

Cheap but durable plastic > Shitty aluminum that shatters and dents every time it contacts a feather blowing gently in the wind. Whether you're putting it up your anus or not, I suppose.

lmao the iphone 5 beats the shit out of the GS3 in drop tests

my iphone has been in like every orifice and i have neither dents nor shatters
i think it's pretty telling that you use an obvious anal masturbation joke to say random unlettered rants about iphones
i mean faze must have at least 50 android phones lodged in him, it would be the only thing that explains his behavior.

or you could try to not drop your phones and get the pretty one
lmao the iphone 5 beats the shit out of the GS3 in drop tests
Haven't seen those, but the S2 wrecked the 4/4S in every single drop test I saw so I'd be interested in seeing if this is actually true. Got any links?

This WOULD matter if mobile gaming actually held a candle next to any other sort of gaming.
or you could try to not drop your phones and get the pretty one
Or you can say "to hell with it" and just get the one that suits your needs the best, regardless of who it's made by.
Besides, "pretty" is subjective.

I don't even think the iPhone looks good really, the GUI most of all looks hideous and outdated to me. If I were to get an iPhone, it would be for the specs/screen which are apparently pretty great on the iPhone 5. I still wouldn't want one though, because objective c is awful as fuck and developing for iOS is way more closed.
A mid-point between touch and buttons would be amazing for gaming. I could very much see an RTS working well.
You'd need physicality though. A moulded screen with buttons that are also touch screens would be great- so you could actually press down on something while it's dynamically updating graphically. Later on we could move to screens that actively change their surface physicality so that buttons can take new forms or appear in new areas of the screen.

wrong videos, he's talking about the galaxy s 2, which was far superior to what apple offers in terms of durability
we dont need to see these videos to know that that s3 is flimsy trash

I actually asked to see the S3 comparison videos vs the iPhone 5, because I knew the S2 won out in that series of phones. Either way, I don't own and don't plan on getting the S3, my only Android so far has been the Galaxy Nexus and I've really liked it so I'll probably get the next in that line that comes out.
As far as how the videos held up, the 1st can't even be considered because it was so poorly controlled, but the second video was a bit better. It's definitely true that the iPhone seemed to fare better than the S3 but both faired awful as far as the kind of drops that actually damage the phone. It really doesn't matter if your phone has slightly less cracks in the glass after you drop it, if your entire front face is cracked to shit it's done.

With these sorts of phones it seems inevitable that it'll break if you drop it from a height of any significance; it's got a massive bit of glass in the front.
Why isn't anybody marketing some sort of semi-elastic safety cord? You'd clip it to your belt or pocket or whatever so that if you drop the phone it doesn't crash to the ground

Lots of companies make cases that are sturdy enough to not need that, one of my family friends got a case for his iPhone that's supposedly safe falling from 10 metres and can be submerged fairly deep before any water will seep in. Brother's has managed to keep his iPhone alive despite him destroying everything he's ever owned (including lots of other apple products)
because it would be ugly
apple has a good idea with the new ipods and the little cord they have for that
unobtrusive but still reliable
maybe not the best looking thing in the world though
[editline]4th November 2012[/editline]
of course there's these lovely things called cases and not being reckless with your electronics
i have all my tablets without a case and have yet to drop any
Wow you guys are fucking petty
I enjoy mobile gaming
GTA, Bad Piggies, Minecraft, etc are cool to play both on my phone and kindle fire
Suck it bitches
More like it's place in the casual gaming world
I've never heard of an iphone game with a long and interesting story, deep characters or interesting (rather than touch-based gimmicky) gameplay, other than ports of games from proper consoles.
There's a big difference between "portable gaming" (DS and PSP) and this.
Doom RPG was kind of neat I guess.

How can you even do this
Touch-screen gaming is a joke.

How can you even do this
i installed Lubuntu on my lappy and I'm a sophomore in highschool with only a dim idea of what a "partition" is
also everyone who is vehemently against mobile gaming is a prissy-pants nerd. not everyone resorts to ultimate xtreme PC gaming super-specs computer power to entertain themselves
Failed to install ubuntu and reformated his harddisk at the same time.
What? My mom, who is pretty much useless with computers, managed to install Ubuntu on her super-old Windws 98 -PC so she could use it for bank and other important internet-things. She did this because my sisters always hog all the PC's they have.
It holds your hand all the way too, and the OS itself is super-simple. How the hell can you fail that?
Mobile gaming is an important buisness! not.

just because you're such a ~hardcore pc gamer~ and quite possibly a valve fanboy doesn't mean the rest of the world are
Apple are pioneers of gaming. Where would be be without such masterpieces as Angry Birds?
indeed; that game has touched me on such a deep emotional level that it made me reconsider my entire worldview
