Because it's basically the same thing physiologically? The clitoris is an erectile tissue. It's very painful for it to be constantly erect.

either way though this probably does fucking suck... kind of experienced a similar thing. kind of. wasn't sexual but it still hindered my life like this would and noone could do shit for me.
