You can use anesthetics to not feel pain during minor surgeries. You can actually be put to sleep and not have to witness your chest being cut in half while doctors toy around with whatever is wrong. Drugs themselves don't have to be bad, It's just the bad ones that people look at.

People should be forced to take a test before being allowed to use drugs of any sort. A test that will test them to see if they've got the fucking cranial capacity to not throw the entire bag into their mouth and then throw in a lit match.
