Can we sell some shit to them
y'know, make some money back on our surplus
carl gustav OP plz nerf.
Lol you just reminded me about the CG in Bad Company 2 which actually was hilariously OP.
They didn't even sell them, which is the first time that Germany send lethal aid.
Estonia sent a million rounds of Soviet-era ammunition to the Kurds a few days ago (not much but all we can do), good so see Germany joining in too.
10 years down the line I'm sure we'll be opposing these guys in some way or other. Always ends up that way.
Czech republic is sending them like 500 tons of our military surplus, afaik for free :v:
This cost 70 million in total, also for free. Waffenlieferungen doesn't translate to arms sales.
Heavy bazookas? Uhhhhhhh
[editline]31st August 2014[/editline]
Lets chalk that one up to a translation error...unless they're actually selling them fucking Super Bazookas.

Not necessarily this group, but these guns definitely.

Going to be very weir seeing Panzerfaust 3s in sketchy liveleak and apacheclips footage. Milans are less weird but still will be interesting.

As I said, I think if it's a translation error then it's Carl Gustavs, if it's proper then M20 super bazookas. The Bundeswehr has employed both so it could be either one.
Also I get the feeling the PzF-3s won't look all that odd on liveleak, thanks to the exposed warheads they look far more similar to RPG-7s than most modern western anti-armor weapons.
Watch how these guns wind up in the hands of some terrorist organisation after this conflict. It has always been the same.
I wonder where those Milan missiles will end up in a few years
Oh my. The modern MG-42 is being deployed for military related things.
Because scandinavia and germany hasn't used it in forever right.
Also 5 Dingos and several jeeps.

I might be wrong but isn't it counter-productive to introduce more weapons to the region. I know the Kurds are kind of the good guys, and such. But to me it seems that sending more hardware to the region would only cause more volatile situations to arise.
But who knows, so far areas Kurds control seem to be peaceful stable places where people live fair and prosperous lives.
Not really a fan of the possibility of their enemies capturing their guns. I do NOT want to see Norwegian-built G3s in the hands of ISIL forces.
ISIS have a plentiful supply of AK-47s, I doubt they would start using G3s unless a lot of ammo was captured alongside them...

The Kurds have always been pro-west, the only issue here is after this is said and done they will have an unbelievably good case for an independent Kurdistan and the international community really shouldn't stop them like they have in the past
Not really a fan of the possibility of their enemies capturing their guns. I do NOT want to see Norwegian-built G3s in the hands of ISIL forces.
I'm really not worried about the small arms. There is not a vast gulf of difference that would mean an ISIS struggling militarily with AK-47s will suddenly become unstoppable juggernauts with G3s.
The AT stuff is more important to keep an eye on.

Fairplay considering Turkey has been tacitly using ISIS as means to fight the Kurds in Syria. It's also through Turkey thousands of foreign fighters from Azerbaijan, Chechnya, the EU and the US transit in order to join ISIS. All seemingly with the blessing of the Turkish government.

It's possible that the g3s comes with conversion packets for warpac 7.62. Similar packets are not completely uncommon for a lot central european firearms since you're often dealing with a lot of NATO and WARPAC munitions ddepending on your stores.
I know the cz805 definitely has them, would be surprised if the germans didn't either.
For the record, I believe we're also planning to sell surplus military equipment to the kurds.

Goddamn I'm sure the kurds are happy as can be with their new toys.
10 years down the line I'm sure we'll be opposing these guys in some way or other. Always ends up that way.
Hopefully it won't come to that, although there is the likelihood of the G3s falling into the hands of ISIS if (probably when) they kill Kurdish combatants and are able to grab the hardware from their cold dead hands.
im sure a g36 is a fancy change for a kurd fighter
"Schwere Panzerfauste" actually means "Heavy Bazooka" though, even when not translating with google translate.
