Worst case scenario with this is that a few people believe it and get angry at 4chan. That's it. Those people who are going to riot are going to riot anyway, a few pictures posted on the internet aren't going to convince anyone to riot. Just panic a little and then feel silly. All it is a case of crying wolf. Someone try to get this on Huffington Post as well.

you know what would have been great if tony's email was fake and he did it to incite hysteria in the thread but then I kept reading tony my boy I know you have good intentions but facepunch isn't the source and convincing the 10 people in this thread who want to make photoshops to not make them won't make a single drop of difference when the plan was posted on reddit, 4chan, and twitter before we even heard about it here. This thread is just letting us know about something we'd probably hear eventually anyways, and most of the photoshops being made are likely never to leave this thread because we're all lazy, snarky asshats who like having fun with each other. Only the most gullible people will fall for this, and of those people, I'd bet they were panicking far before they saw a picture of flashlights hovering in the sky

I remember there were a lot of situations like this happening before, but we knew to stay out of it all, since we would just get blamed for anything bad, and 4chan would just take all the credit. Leaving our members angered and confused, with lots of bans going out. Don't think our reputation with 4chan has worn off either, because they still think less of us because were "internet fascists", and have an etiquette to abide by. They'll just take the credit from our members and update their ED article in celebration of their ego boost.
