I don't think ANY amount of truth will dissuade people from believing this stuff. Alot of them want it to be true, therefore they WILL believe it.

I'm coordinating a small local facebook event to fool people. This is a fantastic idea.

The /b/ thread seemed pretty skeptical about the whole event. Unless a bunch of people are doing stuff on their own, there wasn't really much to go off of [editline]x[/editline] If you read the pastebin, it's not scheduled in America until 10am EST tomorrow. There might be a larger impact then, but I guess we'll see [editline]x[/editline] It also seems like the general consensus on r/4chan is that they fucked up because they made it to r/all

Looking at all of these twitter and facebook screens is making my faith in humanity drop more and more with each one.

Sure it may be a funny idea, but i seriously don't think tricking people like this is right, think of how many people could believe it and off themselves, the thought of suicides over this joke makes me shudder.
