Have the roads melted yet?
And when the winter comes, your entire infrastructure breaks down, along with fuckload of snow to clean you will be complaining about.
No way to please you all.
We only get really tiny amounts of snow in my area, sadly.

not yet as far as I know, but I do know for certain that we have melted.

No, the media makes it sound like everything has come to a halt, but it barely does
My arse pretty much melted yesterday from the heat. And even better a few days before my fridge broke so I did have any cool drinks.
It's supposed to rain later today though, so hopefully that will cool things down a bit.
I'm on holiday in Spain where it's actually a degree or two colder than london :v:
Yesterday was unreal, the heat at 08:30 in my office was 27 degrees and that quickly went up to 29, all the way through to 17:00, safe to say no work got done.
I could bare the heat if it's dry, but where I live it's 100% humid always. Just... fucking always
Well, except now, right now it's only 95% hooray! And it'll be 90F (32C) But the heat isn't the problem, it's the direct sunlight. That shit feels like being in a toaster oven. And the effect it has on some stuff is wild
Where I live, sand is white. You can walk on it barefoot at 2 PM on the hottest day ever and because it's white it's actually more on the cool side to the touch. But there's a patch of sand in one spot that's barely brownish. I mean you can't visually tell the difference almost, but that tiny difference is enough that you WILL burn the bottoms of your feet, and blister them, if you walk on it barefoot for more than a few steps
Hottest day indeed, although later in the afternoon the humidity increased by about 1,000,000,000% when a torrential downpour of cataclysmic proportion came down on me.
My hoodie still isn't dry
Nothings worse than doing a lease space in a shopping plaza with 90+ temps when there's no ac, or even a breeze to clear out the air. And oh god the humidity. I about nearly overheated in this shit.
That lightning storm was the best I've ever seen, my dad and I watched it from start to finish.
The heat really fucked up any plans I had to sleep, though.
I long for a nice, cold winter.

whenever there is a thread about the uk melting in the heat, there is always that one american who makes the exact same post.
Was it down south only?
Now y'all know what it's like in Australia in the peak summer.

N.yorks, got thunder + lightning, but only for like 5 minutes
I work in a 40 foot metal container office with 9 people and 9 computers and a very small air conditioner. It's literally 35° in here today and we're slowly cooking here. It really feels like an oven.
help
i wonder how hot it is in my room with a 1000w computer + a 30 inch tv running all day and 17 flats below me, must be over 30
Good for you, person who is used to living in hot temperatures.
Now let us who aren't used to hot temperatures complain about them
im used to both whatcha gonna do
N.yorks, got thunder + lightning, but only for like 5 minutes
Yeah, guess I must have slept through it then.
im used to both whatcha gonna do
Praise you like a deity
Guess we all have to feel for each other. Right now it's 36c, and temperature peaked at 38 here.
I have our portable AC set up again, and the damned thing can't keep up at all.
Really? It's quite nice over here in fife.
Still hot here in Kirkcaldy was sweating walking around the high street today :C
No, the media makes it sound like everything has come to a halt, but it barely does
I thought that as well at first, but my friend confirmed the words that he wasnt even able to travel by train to his studying place. The train message was halted at minus 8 Celcious.
Television during the day is the absolute worst at covering this weather, it's a really nice day in the U.K for London and the lower parts of England, sure, but it's just muggy and humid as fuck everywhere else.
Fucking freezing here in Australia; -3 degrees Celsius tonight here in Canberra. And you know what, I love it. There is no summer equivalent for the almighty hot water bottle.
Close to our peak of 26 today, WAY better than yesterday's heatwave.
So god damn hot it's 03:45 and I can't sleep

That lightning storm was unlike anything me or my parents have ever seen.
I was able to light my house just from the lightning being constant and blinding. End of days
Oh so that's what the flashing was. I was too busy sweating my balls off
Oh so that's what the flashing was. I was too busy sweating my balls off
Mate it was insane
It was SO HOT and humid, and with all the electricity flying about and thunder it felt like a dangerous situation to be in :v: I was looking up at the sky and having to cower away because fuck me it was huge and absolutely blinding. I took my shoes off just to be safe :v: (I went outside in the back yard to watch)
Best weather phenomenon I've ever experienced in this country. 10/10 England would move to the equator for the night again
Once again I think Europe stole our heat, it's 65F(18.3C) here today. It's going to be about 30ish C this weekend, but still this whole week has been pretty cold, I actually had to turn off my fan in the morning.

Our present heatwave is from the Mediterranean.

Today was actually a cool day in the northwest, been at about 16c all day due to it raining a lot
The temperature was nice in the northwest today, but I did have to walk for about an hour in the rain with no coat. Still better than melting my ass off.
It's actually raining praise jesus
