Because marriage is a function of the church, not the state. We don't have the same separation as America does. Strangely enough, we manage to be fairly secular, yet America has the separation of church and state, and Americans are trying to kill their country just so they can follow their fucked-up religious laws. But hey, at least we're working on gay marriage. The church is about to find out a nasty side-effect of taking in taxpayer's money - when you take money from the taxpayers, you have to do what the taxpayers say.
so does being married not grant you tax benefits and stuff in Finland like it does in the US?
so does being married not grant you tax benefits and stuff in Finland like it does in the US?
I honestly don't know about the tax stuff, mostly because I'm not interested. But I do know that if you get into a civil union instead of a marriage, there's some stuff you can't do, like take the other person's last name, adopt a kid, and I think there was something that had to do with healthcare. Taxes aren't really a worry over here, people here usually don't live in perpetual debt and paycheck-to-paycheck like they do in the US.
Because if a stamp had a man fondling a woman, or a woman showing off her melons, it'd be seen as distasteful or sexist, or crass, or what have you, and rightfully so. So why is it acceptable with mild gay porn?
This what the fuck is wrong with all of you ?? Yeah let's put porn on stamps great idea !
This what the fuck is wrong with all of you ?? Yeah let's put porn on stamps great idea !
It is illustrated butt and not porn, also you can see literally naked people in non rated TV shows in Finland because of Sauna scenes and alike and no one ain't starting any fuss about it here.
Our postal office has more dick and balls than your postal office.
This what the fuck is wrong with all of you ?? Yeah let's put porn on stamps great idea !
no these are amazing
It is illustrated butt and not porn, also you can see literally naked people in non rated TV shows in Finland because of Sauna scenes and alike and no one ain't starting any fuss about it here.
There's a difference between a TV Show and a stamp, and someone relaxing in a sauna vs a dude burying his face in someone else's junk. Also clearly people are starting a fuss or there wouldn't be a 2600+ petition against it

dandelion stamps are the only stamps you should be using, plus they make you gay
Propably elderly people and whole North Karelia signed that petition, which means no loss there.
What a terrible generalization to make. I suppose we should disregard the basic human right of not having to look at meat and ass when one writes a letter. I really am having trouble fathoming why someone would defend this. Porn really doesn't have any place on stamps, gay or otherwise.

Also clearly people are starting a fuss or there wouldn't be a 2600+ petition against it
Can't really see "burying face in someone else's junk" in any of these three stamps really. Clearly the stamps are sexual and implicit in nature and 2/3 of these focus on naked muscly men and crotches.
okay fine have it your way
"it should be banned because it's gay!"
He doesn't want them not because they are homoerotic, he doesn't want them because it's incredibly sexual.
It's a figure of speech. Clearly the stamps are sexual and implicit in nature and 2/3 of these focus on naked muscly men and crotches.
okay but I don't quite see the problem with that. even if it was focused on fit women and their breasts I don't think it's that big of a deal. I'm not quite sure what this "basic human right" of not having to look at ass is. It's a tiny stamp, if you were to get a letter from your grandma with a stamp of an ass, would you be offended or would you laugh at it? I really can't think of the situation where seeing one of these stamps on a letter can actually bother you.
"it should be banned because it's gay!"
It seems like every time there's some sort of homosexual related thing that is undoubtably over the top that someone wants banned, there's always that one fucking guy that screams "HOMOPHOBIC".

It's essentially a stepping stone to an even more sexualized society, where the sexualization is not only present in advertising and media but nearly everywhere.

the sight of human flesh is the most disgusting thing
Holy fuck this makes that Polandball comic even better. I thought the new Finnish stamps were the rainbow flag but this is even better for that initial shock appeal.
Odds are you wouldn't raise a fuss over a stamp with someone motorboating some great big bouncing jubblies, so what's wrong with a daring depiction of someone lovingly nose-nuzzling a hunky great bum?
I think the OP's stamps are inappropriate, and I think your shitty hypothetical stamps are inappropriate. By what stretch of moronic logic you think anyone would approve of motorboating tits on stamps is beyond me.
So they are not wanting piece of art made by ww2 veteran to be in post stamp? I say he did us big enough favor then so why not do a little favor in his honor now.

There is a gigantic chasm between women lifting their skirts and obvious smut.
is there an issue with people being alright with sex? almost every mature adult out there knows about it, I don't quite see the big deal. It's not like we're going to have photos of sex on billboards.
Being alright with sex is one thing; sex being plastered everywhere for the sake of having sexual content everywhere is another entirely.

I never realized you foreigners are this sexually repressed, holy shit.
Being alright with sex is one thing; sex being plastered everywhere for the sake of having sexual content everywhere is another entirely.
I don't think these stamps exist just to be sexual content. It's honoring a famous Finnish artist, who is well known for his homoerotic art. I think the stamps are nice. I could be wrong about the purpose of the stamps or how famous this guy was, but I dunno, I think this is cool.
