What ever happened to using condoms
They're shite
Well DUH we don't have male birth control yet, men can't get pregnant.
Imagine getting hot and heavy with your girlfriend and having to pause and jam a needle up your ass before going at it. Yeah, I'll stick with the rubbers.
Imagine getting hot and heavy with your girlfriend and having to pause and fumble with a slippery piece of rolled-up latex before going at it, covering your dick and slipping around and being generally uncomfortable, then awkwardly disposed of afterwards, ruining the mood there too. Yeah, I'll stick with needles up my ass every <interval here>.
"men are too weak for contraception"
Things men have managed to handle historically: Mining under terrible conditions [x] Industrial warfare [x] Whaling [x] Wildlife Trapping [x] Contraception [ ] Not to get too MRA-ish, but this sexist nonsense pisses me off.
China has male birth control. You know why we don't have? Way back(1970s), Brazil and China developed a male birth control based on studies conducted in the 1930s. However, feminists lobbied against it. Brazil wouldn't launch the pill, but China didn't give a fuck.

Much like with treating sexual dysfunction, birth control isn't treating the same thing for both sexes either.
I'm cool with needles but needles for a contraceptive are you fucking kidding me
I'm cool with needles but needles for a contraceptive are you fucking kidding me
IIRC most hormonal treatments administered with needles tend to be done once a week or so, so it's not like you gotta do it every time you want to get it on
What ever happened to using condoms
Condoms suck. They kill sensation for men, and can cause uncomfortable friction for women. Besides, if you're in a long-term monogamous relationship, they just aren't necessary beyond the immediate need to prevent pregnancy since you've got nothing to fear in the way of STDs. Having both male and female birth control would effectively eliminate all risk of pregnancy, without actually making sex less fun like condoms do. It was incredibly convenient, and basically foolproof. It had some very nasty side effects, unfortunately, so we had to switch to the pill.
IIRC most hormonal treatments administered with needles tend to be done once a week or so, so it's not like you gotta do it every time you want to get it on
obviously, but once a week you take a needle, that's still not cool either way its bad enough for diabetics that they have to use needles themselves. Really the less we need needles for shit outside of vaccines and heroine if your bored the better what we need is the hypospray [t]https://www.yourprops.com/movieprops/original/yp_521084916fdd64.35469914/Star-Trek-The-Original-Series-Dr-McCoy-s-Hypospray-Mk-II-2.jpg[/t][t]http://www.ryannagata.com/files/gimgs/32_hypospray1.jpg[/t][t]http://www.take1.tv/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/McCoy-Treats-Kirk.jpg[/t] Let this replace needles and we're set

One Doctor's appointment to get it put in and bam, you've got the best chances of avoiding pregnancy for the next five or so years, and it can be removed at any time to stop the effects.

The pill's side effects are much more bearable for her; unfortunately that comes at a reduction of effectiveness. We are probably getting to the point within the next year or so that we'll seriously start considering having kids anyway, and after we've had our fill I intend to get a vasectomy. So, we shouldn't have to deal with it forever at least!
The NIH summed up this study to a higher degree of data than any other news site. Out of 320, side effects reported: acne (46%), increased interest in sex (38%), injection site pain (23%), emotional disorder (17%), muscle aches (16%). And 5% became permanently infertile. Its nothing about sexism, its everything about the health and wellbeing of the test participants.
what we need is the hypospray Let this replace needles and we're set
We already have that in the form of Jet Injectors, they've been around since the late 80s.
First of all, 96% in comparison to 99.8% for women? Didn't two of the male subject COMMIT SUICIDE? Secondly, My gf takes the pill and it actually helps her. It makes her period more predictable, shorter, and she has less PMS symptoms. So what in the fuck are those people on about. A lot of women take birth control FOR the side effects. Because the positive side effects outweigh the negative side effects greatly. The people who made this into a big deal call men wimps are the same man hating sjws that wouldn't take a contraceptive themselves. This shit is way more dangerous than the female version. no thank you.

Its just this man hating mentality that exists around it. It's fucked up. Originally we developed female contraceptives because women deserve the choice. Not only that, but it is easier to develope a safer working drug to stop contraception at fertilization rather than at sperm production. Man hating feminazi apologists aren't saying "men deserve the right too" They are saying "why should we take this shit and you don't have to?" Then proceeds to back the very first attempt at male contraception as if its the end all answer and attacking people for declaring that its too harmful. Maybe they just want to harm men. But its a fucked up vindictive attitude that people should have grown the fuck out of when they are 17.
The overall lack of general knowledge on birth control is staggering. Its a shot. Are you people this big of pussies when you get a flu shot? Fuckin' lord.
The overall lack of general knowledge on birth control is staggering. Its a shot. Are you people this big of pussies when you get a flu shot? Fuckin' lord.
Expand? You post is a bit confusing to me.
Expand? You post is a bit confusing to me.
Hes talking about the 'eeeeew needles' guys in here.
Surely if you don't want kids just don't have sex? Or use a condom? Those things work most of the time.
This article seems biased as fuck, I'm on sertralin, 100mg of anti-depressant medicine, and it completely locks up one's ejaculating. Like legit I can't even masturbate anymore, it's handy in bed but awkward in general. It's a small pill that I take, much like women have to, and this' got the benefit of helping my anxiety.
It's in your ass. "After completing screening, eligible couples entered the suppression phase. The male participants received 200-mg NET-EN (200 mg/mL) 1000-mg TU (250 mg/mL) by 2 separate gluteal injections every 8 weeks for up to 4 injection visits."
gluteal? ye pretty sure were talking subcutaneous shit or maybe even intramuscular you can inject that shit into your thigh deffo
What ever happened to using condoms
For one night stands that works, but tbh using condoms when you're in a relationship kinda sucks. The sex just isn't as good and you gradually get a garbage can filled with used condoms of you're having sex regularly. Some sort of ingestible biomechanical birth control for men would just be good in general so the pill (for women) isn't the only option. It likely won't happen though, the pill is simple because it's easy to exploit a temporary hormonal state in women that causes infertility, but men don't really have a natural state or hormone trigger to cause sterility so it makes it much harder to develop something.
Surely if you don't want kids just don't have sex? Or use a condom? Those things work most of the time.
Why block people from having more options?
Why block people from having more options?
Condoms and abstinence work fine. Whereas all of these injections, pills and implants mess with your body chemistry, which can have various adverse effects.
Hopefully they will perfect this soon. I have the nexplanon and it's an ok system. It's annoying in my arm sometimes and the side effects were horrible in the beginning (actually some still are, mainly worse depression/pms than usual and not knowing how my period is gunna be) but most other symptoms have gone away. It is much safer than an iud and the depo shot though (heard a million horror stories about both from friends and reliable online sources) and the pill/ patch suck as far as effectiveness and me forgetting to take stuff. It'll hopefully last me another 2 years. If they make something like this for guys even with side effects it would be good. It's not really a big deal when you don't have to worry about pulling out or condoms. Also for all you needle pussies the needle thing they injected it with was a good 1/8" thick. Didn't feel a thing though since they inject lidocaine and it's so sharp it probably wouldn't have bothered me without it. It was kinda sore and bruised for like a week but it felt like someone just socked me.
Condoms and abstinence work fine. Whereas all of these injections, pills and implants mess with your body chemistry, which can have various adverse effects.
Condoms suck from a logistical perspective and abstinence is boring for many people. No one's going to force you to take this, so why not more options? [editline]3rd November 2016[/editline] Also yeah, what the hell is wrong with a needle every few weeks?
I ain't injecting shit. Figure something else out.
i think its more long term than a case of pills. Women have birth control shots that last months as well.
For how much people on Facepunch laugh in threads about schools not teaching about contraceptives, this thread had a worrying amount of misinformation or general ignorance on the subject.
