Notch offers Tim Schafer Money to make Psychonauts 2

As long as he does nothing more then provide money then I am ok with this.
My least favourite dev possibly funding the sequel to one of my favourite games? I'm so conflicted.

What's with all the notch hate? He is the worst dev ever because he's not perfect? He's a nice person, he obviously makes games because he likes games and doesn't care too much about money, he's very open and doesn't seem to keep many things secret from the community, he supports indie devs, his games are PC exclusive or have the PC as the lead platform, he might make Psychonauts 2 happen and yet he's still worse than EA and Activision combined?

I don't think notch's ineptitude is contagious. His money is probably safe.

I never said I hated notch. I don't think he's bad person just a lazy developer who likes to vacation.

Like every other developer ever (with a few exceptions of course like that Dave guy from Wolfire)

You got your words mixed up a bit. Fixed it for you, buddy.
Maybe this is a sign that eventually there will also be a Brutal Legend 2.

I'd rather see a Grim Fandango 2.
The first did have an obvious sequel hook. But as it is with sequels with power progression, they'd have to think of a way to let you start from zero again so new players have an equal experience.
If they're going for a more linear approach they could make the new Big Bad give Raz amnesia and he's only slowly recovering his lost abilities while also learning new techniques. That could also make the Big Bad instantly a huge threat considering the setting. Destroying people's minds certainly seems like a step up from think tanks.
And the levels could be inside people's damaged minds, making them even more trippy than in the first game. Fuck yes.

I don't think anyone is saying he is a bad person (even though you can't really know if he's a good person either). We don't think he's the worst but its not because he isn't perfect. Its because we all supported him in making the game but when he had enough money to live off of it he just stopped and then "released it" just as an excuse slow down updates even more and as some type of marketing strategy. I think we are justified thinking he's a bad dev.

Hell, I'd give Tim Shafer all money just for Grim Fandango HD on Steam.
The all my money thing is a lot more reasonable when you see how broke I am.
Timesplitters 4? Come on, Notch, you can do it.
