What is this shit. I expected people to be talking cool shit in this thread not arguments trying to prove an invisible man in the sky exists.
Christianity was derived from Judaism. I don't think I need to explain that part.
I'm engaged and getting married in May actually, thanks.
Well fuck, now theres a chance that you will spread more religion to your partner GG :downs:

This
Go to Church. That's all I can say.
Because churches are never corrupt. You know, like the Catholic church that denied the holocaust, started the crusades, spanish inquisition, etc etc.
I know because of experiences, and the fact that when I started going to Church, my life totally turned around, for the better.
Really because I've been happier ever since I became an atheist.
Money is finally together,
Do you not know what tithes are???? Also, financial stability has nothing to do with religion.
I'm not as miserable, I'm not as hopeless and depressed, the list goes on.
Placebo. You're giving yourself something to wrap your life around because you think you have a void.
Just give me one statement proving god is real.
You know, cloning new bodies for people suffering from a terminal illness, or cloning new lungs and livers and hearts and stuff could save quite a few lives.
But wouldn't the person you cloned have the right to life?
Hey guys can we talk about cloning now that faze proved himself an idiot?
I want to be cloned!

If you're both not virgins you're going to hell.
Okay. Let's end this stupid bullshit. I can't believe were in almost 20 fucking 10 and people still believe 2000+ year old scripture. First off, the bible, or any other religious text doesn't mean shit unless you can prove, or have any scientific testable evidence that a deity exists. Otherwise it's just circular reasoning, which doesn't fucking solve shit. Because there is no way to truly test whether a god exists or not, agnosticism is implied, anyone who says they KNOW whether or not there is a god is truly ignorant. However, just because you can't KNOW for sure, doesn't mean that the idea of a god holds any merit. If you have no evidence for something being true, that doesn't mean you need evidence that it isn't true. Do you need evidence that Santa, The Tooth Fairy, or leprechauns don't exist? I really hope not. Although technically you can't know for sure, you are an intelligent human being and you should be able to agree that the idea of any of those three existing is fairly ridiculous. So if you don't need evidence that something that doesn't exist doesn't exist, then why would you need evidence that a god doesn't exist, to live your life as if god didn't exist? Well you wouldn't. So stop using god/religion as an excuse for shit. Also, faith is complete and total bullshit as it is an actively irrational belief that something you have absolutely no evidence for, and sometimes even conflicting evidence for, still is true or holds merit.
If you're both not virgins you're going to hell.
That's not true. Ever hear of forgiveness of sins?
But wouldn't the person you cloned have the right to life?
We could just clone the organs. That's harder, I presume, though.
The only problem with cloning is the whole defect thing, really. Other then that no problem.
There are problems with cloning people but that's mostly psychological, knowing you're an exact copy of someone else and trying to live up to people's expectations.
We could just clone the organs. That's harder, I presume, though.
They already do that.
Also, to anyone who says religion was always completely useless. It wasn't. It funded early sciences and was a very early form of a hypothesis. It just got ugly when people actually started testing said hypothesis, and the people who formed this hypothesis got all angry about being wrong, and thus we have stupid religions arguments in 2009/2010. Religion is completely useless in the current day and age, but it wasn't always useless.
That's not true. Ever hear of forgiveness of sins?
Ahahahahaha, typical Christian, "I can break the rules because God will forgive me, lol"
Is there any proof that God exists? Take a good look around. When most people look at the world around them, they see only the trees; they do not see the forest that is there. It should be obvious that God exists because of His creation, not only us humans, but the world we live in, the galaxy that world is in, and the universe that the galaxy is in.
Our universe contains too much order for our existence to have been created out of chaos. We are complex beyond our imaginations and when you look at such a complexity, you see God and His creation.
This right here is a complete blind statement supported by absolutely nothing.
I just looked at the beginning sentence for each other reason, and it's the same exact thing. "fact" supported by nothing.
That's not true. Ever hear of forgiveness of sins?
Think of it like this. The bully beats you up and then blames you for having bruises, so he tells you to apologize.
Question 4 u.
Okay so there's this dude who's bored as shit for like forever. Nobody knows where he came from but he's always been there. So he decides to poof some shit into existence. SO he makes this place and says its good and then makes other stuff and is like "great".
So then he decides that he wants company other than flying invisible dudes and using a lump of dirt makes a dude. Then he says "hey this dude needs some1 else!!!" and then knocks him out and steals a rib from him and makes a girl.
So he's like "Dude and girl u 2 r so raddddd I LOVE YOU"
Then he is gone off shopping or something and this talking snake comes up and says "Hey yo see that tree that God put there??? It'll make u smart if you eat off it!!!"
The man and the woman were ignorant, like a child. They were ignorant because their all knowing and loving god kept knowledge from them. So they, like a child, listen to the other party. They decide to decide for themselves. They decide to learn. And for that, they are punished? They are damned?
Why would a loving God create something, call it good, and then fuck it all up just for shits and giggles?

Why would a loving God create evil? And yes, according to Christianity, everything originated from this "God". That means that all evil in this world was made by the source of all "good" in this world.
You know why you can't answer any of this? Because there is no God, there is no heaven, there is no hell. And the only thing you're doing by believing it is wasting your life away talking to someone who can't answer.
Why don't we just fucking let people believe what they want to believe and get over it?
Jesus, people like you are as bad as bible thumping catholics. There's no difference.
My face just exploded WITH JOY!
I think it's funny that you're all arguing about religion. Regardless of your little religious views, arguing on the internet won't change anything. Even if you truly believed that cloning went against the Bibkle (it doesn't. Don't say that it does) there really isn't anything you can do. Starting a flame war on some internet forum isn't helping.

Why believe something that persuades ignorance and shuns the gaining of knowledge and calls that evil. You can't take the middleman.
How about four, read this link: http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/proof-that-god-exists-faq.htm
Completely shit. It's all based on faith.

herp derp the universe is too complicated to have happpened spontanously
We have scientific processes that can explain very near everything that goes on in the world, to a degree that we can predict what would happen if something happened. They're called theories, what good does faith do?
[editline]03:50PM[/editline]
Other then making you feel better.

Faith and science clash, and it's people who blindly defend faith that keep us from doing so much more.
[editline]03:51PM[/editline]
They're called theories, what good does faith do?
Before anyone calls out this statement I'd like to say that theories are backed by evidence. Faith has none.
Let's get back on topic.
I learned that cloning is bad after I played hitman.
How about four, read this link: http://www.allaboutphilosophy.org/proof-that-god-exists-faq.htm
Page summed up:
*You need faith to believe in god
*God exists because he created everything.
*God exists because people have instinct.
*Jesus was Jesus so therefore god is real.
Why don't we just fucking let people believe what they want to believe and get over it?
Jesus, people like you are as bad as bible thumping catholics. There's no difference.
Because when people are blowing themselves up over religion, people that wouldn't be doing this if they didn't believe in a god or whatever. Actually, I'd be fine with them doing it, if they weren't doing it because of an ignorant faith or untrue belief. If they understood the world for what it was and had decided that the best way to improve their lives, and their families lives, then I would be fine with that. Those people could even be reasoned with, and we could come to a understanding and agreement. However, that doesn't happen because of religion filling their minds with faith in untrue fantasies and ideals, why would anyone take a compromise over 72 virgins anyway?
[editline]03:54PM[/editline]
I like how no one responded to my big block of text.
Faith and science clash, and it's people who blindly defend faith that keep us from doing so much more.
It's more like idiots and science clash. I'm a Catholic but I'm smart enough to know that it's advances like this that we need to be a successful race.
I never understood why people think debating over the Internet was stupid. It's productive that each member of society, no matter who or where they may be, forms good ideals and learns to be a contributor to this world through their work, and learning as we progress. So really none of this is pointless.

Because it's much better to sit and do nothing right? Maybe we should just pray that people start thinking logically and see the universe what it is, instead of seeing a god behind everything.
