Doing what?
He works at Boeing, I don't really know what he does exactly. He has top secret clearance so I can't really know. [editline]07:41PM[/editline]
Skill gained through education and like I said, education is not cheap and can drive people into debt.
Which is why public education was invented. Also, genetic skills.

He gets paid more and probably gets to be indoors with the AC on. Public education only goes so far, what about college/university? Thats not free.
Which is why public education was invented.
Public universities cost tens of thousands of dollars per year.
Also, genetic skills.
So, what, you're a social darwinist?

And like I said, he gets paid more because his job is harder. He needs more skill. He needs to be more intelligent. He needs to work his ass off at school. A day laborer needs no skill.
I don't support it. More than 250,000 might be rich in the south where cost of living is low, but my family lives in orange county where cost of living is high and we make around 300,000 a year and we can barely make it by as is. I don't support this. [editline]07:23PM[/editline] and I would consider myself upper middle class not rich
My dad makes 150-250,000 a year in Afghanistan.(but only get's paid when he's there, so any vacation time takes a cut out of his pay) He took the job so we could pay off our house and take care of bills and whathaveyou. It works, but we never get to see him as he's always gone. He's already retired but there's no way we could pay shit off with just that alone. I suppose we are better off than most, probably by a lot. I feel bad for the people who can't make ends meet. i don't think a little bit of a tax hike will hurt us upper middle class men, not that it will go to anything useful probably.
So, what, you're a social darwinist?
What the fuck, no. I'm saying people are born naturally predisposed towards things like being strong/fast/intelligent. Which are skills.
Public universities cost tens of thousands of dollars per year. So, what, you're a social darwinist?
My community college tuition for this semester was like 1,500 only. That will go up once I transfer to a real University though.
Our family is just paying for my sister's university, and we have some debt and we live in a high cost of living area so it will affect us a lot.
It was your choice to live in a high cost area.
What the fuck, no. I'm saying people are born naturally predisposed towards things like being strong/fast/intelligent. Which are skills.
You're thinking of traits. Skills are something you have to work at.
It was your choice to live in a high cost area.
Not really. I was born here. and it's expensive and difficult to move. Also note this: We were not expecting the recession. [editline]07:54PM[/editline]
You're thinking of traits. Skills are something you have to work at.
Well yeah but people are predisposed for it to be easier for them to be good at something. For example, some people are naturally just good at guitar.
For such a Christian nation, Americans are sure self centred.
You can't survive on raw talent alone though.
For such a Christian nation, Americans are sure self centred.
It's funny because Christian means "Christ-like." Like Ghandi said: "I like your Christ. I do not like your Christians. They are so unlike your Christ."
Well yeah but people are predisposed for it to be easier for them to be good at something. For example, some people are naturally just good at guitar.
And what about those who are not born with talent? Are they supposed to just "go away"?
You can't survive on raw talent alone though.
I didn't say you could. [editline]07:57PM[/editline]
And what about those who are not born with talent? Are they supposed to just "go away"?
No, they get an education and try their best to contribute. If they just suck ass then they get shit jobs. That's how capitalism works. I never said you did.
I never said you did.
ok then
For such a Christian nation, Americans are sure self centred.
And there is some magical place where people are not self centered? How is wanting yourself to succeed self centered? :colbert: and thirdly, how is any other religion or nation any different? It's human nature to be that way.
And there is some magical place where people are not self centered? How is wanting yourself to succeed self centered? :colbert:
Well it's impossible to not be selfish. Prove me wrong. :colbert:
No, they get an education and try their best to contribute. If they just suck ass then they get shit jobs. That's how capitalism works.
:sigh:
Anyone can be a day laborer.
Anyone can be a sleazebag. The difference is you have to be born into a situation where you have the opportunity.
:sigh:
It took you that long to just put that what an amazing counter-argument
Yeah, I'm greedy because I don't want to have my money stolen and then inefficiently spent on shit I don't want.
"lol bye no more taxes"
Anyone can be a sleazebag. The difference is you have to be born into a situation where you have the opportunity.
Yep, this is a problem with capitalism. The people born to the rich get extra opportunities.
what if the job market is shit?
so they can be taxed even more.
You obviously haven't been around a black neighborhood have you? Or the poor section of the city?
It took you that long to just put that what an amazing counter-argument
I was thinking of something to say until I realized that there is no point seeing as your logic makes no sense.
Hnnngh. Wealthy have more to give. If you tell a billionaire and a pauper to give you $100, who will be more affected?
if you tell a billionaire and a pauper to give you 15% who is more effective
"lol bye no more taxes"
That's not shit I don't want. Shit I don't want is stuff like useless stimulus packages that just throw us more into debt. and the war in Afghanistan.
