I'm sure he works fairly hard, but compared to a roofer or a day laborer, his life is easier. He gets paid more and probably gets to be indoors with the AC on.
Public education only goes so far, what about college/university? Thats not free.

And like I said, he gets paid more because his job is harder. He needs more skill. He needs to be more intelligent. He needs to work his ass off at school. A day laborer needs no skill.

My dad makes 150-250,000 a year in Afghanistan.(but only get's paid when he's there, so any vacation time takes a cut out of his pay) He took the job so we could pay off our house and take care of bills and whathaveyou. It works, but we never get to see him as he's always gone. He's already retired but there's no way we could pay shit off with just that alone. I suppose we are better off than most, probably by a lot. I feel bad for the people who can't make ends meet.
i don't think a little bit of a tax hike will hurt us upper middle class men, not that it will go to anything useful probably.

My community college tuition for this semester was like 1,500 only. That will go up once I transfer to a real University though.

Our family is just paying for my sister's university, and we have some debt and we live in a high cost of living area so it will affect us a lot.
