Bullshit. They're limitng our freedoms because the government is blowing these companies.

Yeah essential for ruining the whole internet.

Not going to happen, people feel too comfortable. They do not want to get imprisoned or even lose their life in worse cases. It could happen if shit got really bad but some internet bill will not be a good enough cause for such a revolution.
Don't upload your private information on the internet that you wouldn't normally want people to see, I'm not for this bill but really I won't notice its presence.
alright, it's time to get the speeches out

also, more on the topic of this, isn't there a little line somewhere in the constitution/bill of rights that says we can replace the government if they start trying to pass unconstitutional bills like limiting our freedom of speech and privacy, etc?
Whoa that all caps text was hard to read.
I'm pretty sure CISPA isn't THAT "privacy and internet destroying", from what I've heard in the last few news threads.
Granted, it's a load of bull, but don't go all Chicken Little over it.
Sadly, if you don't go "Chicken Little" over it people don't pay attention. Feel free to fault society for that, but you must work within the boundaries you've been given, and that's what we got.
please feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, last thing i want is to make the wrong message
but isn't stuff like this only bad... if you're doing bad stuff?
what's the big deal there? isn't that i dare say, a good thing?
\/ don't just rate, explain why. :argh:

Well, I understand that now. What I said in those first 3 posts is best considered wrong.
Best not beat myself up about it though.

The problem is that the writing in the bill is so vague, that they can literally convict you of something even if you haven't done it.
Don't upload your private information on the internet that you wouldn't normally want people to see, I'm not for this bill but really I won't notice its presence.
I don't want any information of mine taken without my permission, and that's exactly what this does. This is like the bank holding your mortgage giving the government permission to go through your stuff in your house.
I wonder if the Internet will actually die one day.

Not just this bill but the fact that the government is oppressing their citizens, strips them off their rights and leaves them to suffer from injustices of capitalism in the name of ''democracy''.
People, get over your hate of Reddit and other sites for long enough to attract some attention over it. You might not like them, but there's at least a lot of them.
Im sure that nobody really hates reddit to the degree that they would let it get in the way of working together against something like this shit... Right?
Bullshit. They're limitng our freedoms because the government is blowing these companies.
This is why I agree with taxing the fuck out of the wealthy corporations, its a good way to keep them in check.

They say its for preventing "legitimate threats" in this country, I don't believe a bloody word they're saying about this. It has corporation infleunce written all over it.

Or what about the fact that no matter what now since 9/11 we have to make things terrorist proof in the name of security.
It's fucking 11 years now and we're still paranoid as all living fuck. We're probably breeding terrorists in this country due to our own lack of attention to our problems, and the gradual erosion of civil rights.
A terror act that is slowly turning government into terrorizing it's citizens. Nice.
who knew capitalism could slowing change to fascism
Got a reply from my Rep:
Dear Mr. Hoffman:
I appreciate your contacting me regarding H.R. 3523, the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act. It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as your Representative in Congress.
The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act amends the National Security Act of 1947 to add provisions concerning cyber threat intelligence and information sharing. Specifically, it provides incentives, in the form of legal protections, by which the government and the private sector can share critical information on cyber threat intelligence within an oversight framework that ensures that the privacy and civil liberties of U.S. persons are respected and protected.
H.R. 3523 is the culmination of years of strong bipartisan efforts to provide an innovative, yet pragmatic, approach to cybersecurity. It leverages the Intelligence Community's expertise and incentivizes the private sector to share cyber threat information in order to build an enduring private-public partnership for this strategic threat to our nation's security. However, an equitable and ethical balance between flexible information sharing and privacy must be established, maintained and vigilantly reviewed. I can assure you that I am attuned to the concerns raised by constituents like yourself and civil liberties organizations. I am fully committed to protecting the privacy afforded to every citizen under our Constitution and will diligently work with my colleagues to ensure these rights are abided by in the defense of our cyber assets.
Currently, H.R. 3523 is with the House Rules Committee and may go to vote on the House Floor as soon as next week. I will continue to track H.R. 3523 as it moves through the legislative process and I will share your concerns with my colleagues.
Again, I appreciate your contacting me on this important issue and I encourage you to keep in touch on more issues of importance to you.
Sincerely,
MARK S. CRITZ

They want to liquidate our privacy? I say we liquidate the fucking government.
Also I want to know who's behind this.

Looks like even though the Germans lost WW2, fascism won.

Indeed plus they'll just use it as a tool to enforce personal morality control based laws like catching drug users and other moralised minorities and such.
Welp, time to migrate onto the TOR network and possibly a new internet.
Did people make a protest in front of the White House the last time?
