Whew, I don't think we're out of the woods yet but I feel a lot better about our chances now.
CISPA is intended to improve computer security
Ahaha that's a good one.
I've got an idea for a legislation. CSA - Common Sense Act
A bill to force other bills to actually make common sense and solve problems instead of creating problems.
And also to make the politicians not to play hide and seek.

What happened to the last bill that Obama promised to veto again?

He passed it once he realized it wouldn't restrict his powers. The concerns he's expressed over SOPA and now CISPA seem genuine enough, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
...Well?
Did anything happen?
I live in the EU so I have no idea what's going on.

Same here, how's it going?
That's what I'm wondering. I'll know when I get an e-mail from David.=P
Just watch, everybody. If CISPA doesn't pass then they'll be shitting out another internet bill.

Nobody's going to riot, only a fraction of one percent of the population even knows what it is. The rest shug and say "It says cybersecurity, it must be good."
Hope Obama blocks it. I really doubt he'd let this through.

Throw in "cyber terrorism" and you've got everyone's attention.
Don't worry guys we can count on Obama.
Has the vote for this horrible bill started yet?
Has the vote for this horrible bill started yet?
I thought it was supposed to be earlier today, but I haven't seen any coverage of any kind on it.
Me either. Maybe it was a secret vote.

And those should be fucking illegal, in a republic like the USA, people need to know what's going on in the government that can and will affect their lives directly. I'm not saying to let out all military plans and shit, just no private votes and let everyone know about every bill that is shat out by congress.
wait so what's going on with the bill.?
wait so what's going on with the bill.?
We don't know.
The news has nothing about it either, to make matters only more foggy and uncertain.
I just received an email from Daily Kos. Apparently the vote is on Thursday. Here:
[My name], please send an email telling your member of Congress to vote “no” on CISPA.
This Thursday the House of Representatives is scheduled to vote on CISPA, the latest legislation intended to stifle internet freedom under the guise of “cybersecurity.” The irony is the text of the bill doesn’t even define "cybersecurity." That makes the legislation dangerously broad, and opens the door to massive, previously illegal, privacy violations by companies and the government.
CISPA allows companies and the government to bypass existing laws in order to monitor our communications, filter content, or potentially even shut down access to online services for undefined “cybersecurity" purposes. But what it doesn't do is provide any new protections for critical infrastructure systems, like electrical grids and water supplies. Some security that is!
Back in January, internet freedom activists banded together to stop SOPA and PIPA. We can stop CISPA too, as the White House is already raising concerns about it.

Keep fighting,

We won't know, but we also have an extra opportunity to both spread awareness and strengthen our own arguments. Personally I'll take it.
Wait this bill let's them track people from other countries correct? Isn't that sort of attacking other countries indirectly calling for war?

Maybe that's what this is aiming to do, lol.
