Ashamed for what? Pointing out that Oculus is a cancer to the industry? Or that their "exclusives" can still be played on the Vive? Because that's really all I did. Quit being such a gigantic baby.
That's great and all but you literally spouted a bunch of buzzwords and topped it off with a nice little cherry of projection about Bitches having "buyer's remorse"
This is the most fanboyish post I've seen in recent memory, you should be ashamed
And bitches isn't as well?
I wish. my problem with car games is that I can't look over my shoulder or peek around to get a better view like I can when actually driving.
I don't know if BeamNG supports VR yet, but that's the game I want VR for
My main reason for not enjoying racing games is the lack of g force on your body. In real life when you throw your car into a corner you feel it. When you accelerate you feel it. Video game racing is very bland for this reason. Motorcycle games are worse because you really use your body when riding a motorcycle. I've never flown a plane so I don't have that problem with flight simulators, I don't know what sensations I'm missing.
I've been following VR for years and the current fight between Oculus Rift and HTC Vive is too heated at the moment and you won't get an unbiased anywhere (I'm biased too!). Personally, despite all the drama revolving Oculus, their headset seems higher quality, with trade-offs that make a lot of sense to me.
However, I also understand the need to have hand-controller right now, and Vive obviously wins on that department, but I do wonder how Vive will fare when the Touch controller come out since they seem a lot more practical and comfortable.
The exclusives deal is totally overblown and there's a very good reddit AMA with several developers that post their opinion on it. As usual, not everything is black or white.
Exclusives might be divisive but they might be the only way to have quality games since no developer will waste that much money on a project that has no chance of turning profit (I'm sorry but most games are practically tech demos at the moment).
In any case, the exclusive deal is timed which seems ridiculous that people would be so pissed off about having to wait a few extra months to get the game on the headset of their choice.

What buzzwords? Maybe you should take a deep breath and critically re-read my post.. You sound like you're just looking for an excuse to be upset.

You're the Vive version of Bitches - You both go way too far.
Just stop.
Exclusive games, when a product launches, shouldn't be the concern. You're spending a ton of money to be among the first to buy the thing, you should be looking at long term value. It shouldn't really matter to an Occulus owner if game X is exclusive to Vive, since even if Occulus owners got game X it won't matter if it turns out that's one of the best games they get for Occulus VR. It would mean Occulus failed since an early game was the high point. Ideally you'd want to see a long line of VR software come out, rendering game X a distant memory.
When a new console comes out are those first batch of games among the best that system will ever have? No. It's takes time, but eventually such great games will come out that no one really even thinks about the launch games anymore. Same with VR, nothing you see now will be memorable compared to what's coming....IF VR isn't just a gimmick.

I think it's really entertaining that the only people objecting to my post are Rift owners. Be a big boy and ignore my post, or prove me wrong. I dismissed Oculus Exclusives and said I enjoyed my Vive. What's the big deal?

"Oculus Exclusives amount to third person dungeon crawlers that may as well be played on a monitor" -> Do you truly think that if this was true people would be bothered by Oculus actions? You took this off your ass since most of the exclusives will use Touch controllers.
"Don't let somebody like bitches convince you that sitting in a swivel chair clutching a sweaty gamepad is somehow a comparable, let alone superior, experience to actually being in the game" -> Yeah, let's ignore the dozens of games made exclusively taking into account the Touch controllers that are in the hands of developers already. There will be games made that use a gamepad and games that use room-scale, one doesn't invalidate the other, stop being an ass.
Furthermore, you want to talk trash there's plenty of devs that prefer Touch controllers to Vive controllers (e.g. https://uploadvr.com/windlands-developer-on-vr-motion-controls-oculus-touch-is-the-way-to-go/)
“Oculus Touch is the best way to play Windlands ever. We’ve done the best we can with the Vive controllers but, honestly the hardware is fighting us. These are both amazing devices but, for Windlands at least, Oculus Touch is the way to go.”
Some actions that Oculus did at release were dubious but there's no reason for all this drama, both headsets are incredible in their own way and I'm hoping to see both thriving and enable the creation of a good gaming environment.
The thing is that you come off as a prick by calling anyone who supports Oculus as bitches as if that was a great argument by itself, the rest of your post is full of lies that I'm not even sure if you believe them yourself.
Haha, I also thought he called Oculus buyers "bitches" in that post, which seemed like a stupid thing a fanboy would say, but it turns out "bitches" is a name of a member here he was referring to :v:

Now that you have mentioned it, it's absolutely true, going to retract that comment.

Touch isn't out yet, it has no release date and no price point, so I'm not factoring it in when talking about the systems. Motion controls and room scale are superior to seated gamepads, sorry. I don't know why you bring up the Windlands developer anyway, seeing as I never said anything bad about Touch.. I don't get the point of your post and I don't particularly care. I endorsed the Vive, deal with it. Nothing is stopping you from offering your own endorsement of the Rift in return. I don't really care whether you think I was being fair or not.

As a Vive owner, I honestly hope Oculus doesn't shit the bed with the Touch controllers. It would be for the best if both platforms have good titles because they'll just be ported or patched over to the other HMDs.
Unfortunately, I keep hearing things like Touch will only officially support and target 180 degree standing experiences, and the controllers are easily occluded and fall out of FOV when you try to interact with something on the ground.. Plus people with large hands like myself are supposedly unable to fit their fingers into the controller's slots.
Best case scenario it should be possible to get close to Vive's room-scale (with a bit more occlusion, less FOV and less accuracy at distance) with enough of their cameras setup, but most of these Oculus exclusives aren't going to offer the immersion the Vive does if you can't even turn around. It's going to still be gimmick territory IMO but hopefully not. Some of the best seamless experiences using my Vive come from being able to use my entire room and not worry about my controllers or headset dropping out. I can run around then lay down and look up at the virtual stars without a second thought about my room or tracking. I don't think this will be the case with the Rift and the Touch exclusives might suffer in subtle but immersion breaking ways because of it.

Awesome.
Yes. Tracking volume isn't as large when using only 2 cameras (Rift + Touch cam) but it is more than enough to fully enjoy the majority of room-scale games offered on SteamVR. For those very few rare experiences that may require ridiculously large tracking areas, add more cameras (once they are enabled through the software).•
That sounds exactly like how I was hoping it'd be. Sure, the Oculus Home games will most likely all target 180 standing experiences, but the Rift users can still play the Vive's titles so neither choice keeps you from enjoying all that VR has to offer. Of course some people will be better off with the Vive like myself with a gigantic playspace, but if you can just add on more cameras that'd be great. Of course at even 2 high res, high FPS cameras, you're stressing your USBs pretty hard and there will no doubt be issues for some with adding a 3rd, it should still be possible. That and having super long USBs strewn around your room, but whatever.

Oh please, I object to the bickering from both of you. It's unhealthy for the VR discussions on this forum.
I haven't really been following any of the VR stuff, can someone explain to me what the room scale thing is? Everything I google just assumes you know what it is already.

it's a marketing term valve came up with to describe playing virtual reality games with a "room sized" tracking volume, as opposed to sitting down or standing in one place with a smaller game area.

its the modern gaming term for "bumping into your walls and looking like a jackass"
