"Bottled Water".
Oh yeah, because I LOVE being financially assraped for shitty water in a fancy bottle
I'm fine with it. We know there won't be severe adverse side effects, so we might as well go for it.
Just like flouride this is a bad idea.
Oh yeah, because I LOVE being financially assraped for shitty water in a fancy bottle
Well it doesn't matter. The water will have its taste hardly affected and its good for you. Do you refuse to eat broccoli on the grounds that your parents forced you to eat it?
Its funny because the amount of fluorine, lithium, and other minerals in well/aquifer/spring water is way higher than in tap water.
Lithium and Water = Flames, IIRC. Or is that only under certain conditions?
Lithium and Water = Flames, IIRC. Or is that only under certain conditions?
So you think you're drinking elemental fluorine? Their putting in lithium salts. There is nothing to fear.
One day you drink it, and the next day you have an arm growing out of your ass.
its good for you.
Until I see several well documented reports from several independent health organizations appraising adding Lithium to tap water, I'm gonna say no.
One day you drink it, and the next day you have an arm growing out of your ass.
It's not radioactive or mutagenic. Nor is that joke funny.
From what I saw on a few websites it appears to be a drug used to treat bipolar and drinking it will make you urinate more and make you more thirsty. What a great addition, now I will have to pay more so I can drink more so I won't be thirsty and I will actually have to use my toilet more than 3 times a day, thank you government.

This is barely going to effect you at all. If you drank enough water to get a real dose of lithium you'd die from water poisoning anyway.
Until I see several well documented reports from several independent health organizations appraising adding Lithium to tap water, I'm gonna say no.
I'm still strongly for the addition of it to water. Even if it isn't health and reduces crime and suicide rates that's a huge reason to add it.
Lithium and Water = Flames, IIRC. Or is that only under certain conditions?
Ionised lithium isn't particularly reactive.
It's not a mind-altering substance. We used to drink by boiling water to kill bacteria. That doesn't magically destroy all the elements in it. Lithium, phosphorous, and fluoride are all in there. They're healthy (in small amounts), like Vitamin C or D. Now, we drink by MINING water from underground. To clean it completely from all bacteria, we boil AND distill it and push it through a massive amount of cleansing processes. This leaves nothing in the water, just pure H2O. Where do we get the lithium, phosphorous, and all the other minerals we need now? Nowhere. They're not dumping rocket fuel into our water, they're putting in incredibly small trace amounts of minerals that are healthy for people. It doesn't really matter if you don't have a choice, you don't have choices for a hell of a lot in the world. Nobody cares that Fluoride is in our tap water, even though it can, in rare cases, also cause health defects. Stop being so :tinfoil:, the government's not trying to kill its citizens.
Well as long as the majority of people find it ok, and the pros of using Lithium outweighs the cons then just add it. Governments have been intervening in things for a long time and more often than not it has been beneficial, without such government intervention most people would be in poverty, drinking water full of shit and diseases.
Look it's facepunch's literal fascist.
What's the name of that logical fallacy again where you create some sort of dichotomy and falsely assert that only the options presented are possible?
American politics?
Godamnit now Obama is taking away my rights as an American to have schizophrenia and severe depression
What's the name of that logical fallacy again where you create some sort of dichotomy and falsely assert that only the options presented are possible?
straw hominem or something
Well adding it is good for you. Pretty much the only reason you chaps don't want it is because it interferes with this human rights crap which has been going around. What the fuck do you want? Every person to vote on this and then decide to add lithium or not. Just bypass the waste of resources and time the voting is and get on with just fucking adding it. We need progress not luddism.
Doesn't lithium, you know explode in water?
Naaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Now it explodes in you :v: :happyelf:
yes let's ignore what everyone but sobotnik thinks this is a great idea
The people who flocked to the spring water ponds with high lithium content and called it "Happy water" seem to like it. If its been sought for centuries, then give the people their lithium water.
What the fuck My mother takes lithium pills to calm her down, but it clearly states that the side effects include becoming obese.
What the fuck My mother takes lithium pills to calm her down, but it clearly states that the side effects include becoming obese.
For the last time, they're not putting in that much. It'll be, at most, trace amounts that one would normally find in natural water sources.
What's the name of that logical fallacy again where you create some sort of dichotomy and falsely assert that only the options presented are possible?
False Dichotomy. Even if you were being facetious, I still like saying it. False Dichototototomy.
