Sometimes you cant rely the inefficiency of beaurocracy to keep you safe. If the weapon wasnt for sale in the first place, we wouldnt have to rely on unreliable communication to prevent a church getting shot up.
I don't understand. If we can't rely on the government to do its job, why should we rely on them to...sign more laws that they have to do their job for?
You mongs know exactly what I’m talking about so no need to get into semantics. Weapons like the AR-15 platform or other weapons with high capacity magazines. (User was banned for this post ("Flaming" - Mezzokoko))
You mongs know exactly what I’m talking about so no need to get into semantics. Weapons like the AR-15 platform or other weapons with high capacity magazines.
You mean standard 30 round capacity magazines?

"If x didnt have a gun then he couldnt have shot y" no shit? That doesnt prove anything at all
You mongs know exactly what I’m talking about so no need to get into semantics. I remember in another thread someone compared, what was it? Looked like a Garand or something, I forget, some rifle with wood furniture that does exactly the same thing an AR-15 can do, but it just doesnt look like one so nobody cares.
I mean you could also ban the use of high capacity magazines and have round restrictions like Cali I guess, does the same job.
You mongs know exactly what I’m talking about so no need to get into semantics. What about the fact that magazine size means little, which is something we've already covered in the thread.
I mean you could also ban the use of high capacity magazines and have round restrictions like Cali I guess, does the same job.
Doesnt this just lead to loophole guns that get around the bans by slight modification?
You mongs
Lmao get over yourself
know exactly what I’m talking about so no need to get into semantics. Weapons like the AR-15 platform or other weapons with high capacity magazines.
The fact that you're in the military and yet still fail completely with gun terminology is hilarious. "30 round High capacity magazines"
Doesnt LA have a huge gang problem too. Or something? I think its a lot safer than it used to be though but its still a big issue.
Ok so what is specific about the AR-15 platform that is so bad? You could have magazine restrictions and keep your cool looking shooty M4 without burst fire I guess.
Doesnt LA have a huge gang problem too.
Yeah. None of their laws solved their gun crime issue.
Bruh it’s semi auto that’s the main feature with the civilian platform. You could have magazine restrictions and keep your cool looking shooty M4 without burst fire I guess.
Do you know what these terms mean at all?
Doesnt this just lead to loophole guns that get around the bans by slight modification?
Yes it does and I’ll admit Cali is a little extreme with some of its restrictions.
Bruh it’s semi auto that’s the main feature with the civilian platform. You could have magazine restrictions and keep your cool looking shooty M4 without burst fire I guess.
Excuse me, but what burst fire?
Do you know what these terms mean at all?
Yeah read between the lines a little bit better. The M4 platform has a burst fire option with the selector switch, the AR-15 does not.
Bruh it’s semi auto that’s the main feature with the civilian platform. Do you even know what burst fire is?
Excuse me, but what burst fire?
Have you ever used an actual M4 rifle before?
Yeah read between the lines a little bit better. The M4 platform has a burst fire option with the selector switch, the AR-15 does not.
Yes? And? We all know that the AR-15 doesn't have burst fire. Magazine restrictions don't mean anything. The AR platform is built to have incredibly simplistic magazine changes.
Yeah read between the lines a little bit better. The M4 platform has a burst fire option with the selector switch, the AR-15 does not.
Civilians dont have access to burst fire weapons though so I dont know what you're getting at
:snip:
Obviously its impossible to completely eliminate violent behavior. Thats not entirely relevant though as reducing the causative factors of violent behaviors is by far the best way to reduce instances of violence and massed violence. Meanwhile removing access to guns does nothing to mitigate violent behaviors.
Again, I agree, but it does mitigate the effects of violent behavior. That's how most medicine works, believe it or not. Morphine doesn't eliminate the "causative factors" of pain, it just mitigates the effects. Cold medicine doesn't eliminate the root cause of the cold itself, it just mitigates the effects of the cold. Yes, pursuing the causal stuff is better. If we had medicine that could outright eliminate the source of the common cold, it'd clearly be better than the stuff we use now. We don't have that for gun violence. We don't have anything close to that. Yes, guns do not cause violence, but they sure as hell make it worse. Since we cannot eliminate violent behavior itself, we should do what we can to make sure that violence (which is inevitable according to your own admission) does as little damage as possible.
Yeah read between the lines a little bit better. The M4 platform has a burst fire option with the selector switch, the AR-15 does not.
you cant buy an M4 with burst fire as a civilian already
Have you ever used an actual M4 rifle before?
Have you?
I'm pretty sure the M4 is just the military designation for the AR.
Yes, with the main difference being the M4 platform has a burst fire available with the selector switch. My main reason for bringing the M4 up was to make fun of people for wanting a cool military looking weapon like the M4, I guess it was in poor taste though.
Have you ever used an actual M4 rifle before?
No, and you want to know why? Because it's incredibly difficult, nigh impossible, to purchase one without tens of thousands of dollars, or being in the US military. [editline]9th November 2017[/editline]
My main reason for bringing the M4 up was to make fun of people for wanting a cool military looking weapon like the M4, I guess it was in poor taste though.
So why even bring it up?
Have you ever used an actual M4 rifle before?
What does that have to do with anything?
Have you ever used an actual M4 rifle before?
Oh lmao I get what you're trying to say. You're calling the ar-15 an m-4 without burst fire. Why would that be at all relevant to the discussion?
Yes, with the main difference being the M4 platform has a burst fire available with the selector switch. Like at all.
Like you could not have communicated that less clearly
