I've seriously seen some weird stuff on the internet. There's this whole "Second American Revolution" going on. People are gathering militias together and doing combat training. See for yourself.
Wow. Look at that, a radical right-wing anti-Obama propaganda forum.
Oh christ, these people are ridiculous. They think that this is real, it's obviously just cut pieces of speech put together http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=tCAffMSWSzY They use him speaking a foreign language to say he's a muslim :downs:
If i had the money i would so hire a chopper and scare the loving shit out of them with a floodlight and megaphone.
Except then you land and pass out thousands of rounds of ammo. Also, it's good to see the gun-right appreciation in this thread.
Im really waiting to hear what anti-gun lobbyists have to say about this, their stammering responses should be quite comical. :allears:

Most media outlets: Murder down 10% despite recession :unsmith: "The Examiner": Murder down 10% despite gun sales YEEHAW TAKE THAT COMMIES :madmax:
[citation needed]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence#Homicides_by_country The firearm homicide rate in the U.S. is 3 times as high as India, 6 times as high as switzerland, and 25 times as high as England. Don't complain about it being wikipedia, it's all sourced
American gun crime rate is still higher than many other countries that enact some form of gun control policy.
not because there are more legal guns, but rather because the population is higher and lots of that population is poor and commits crimes with illegal guns [editline]12:14PM[/editline]
I've seriously seen some weird stuff on the internet.
not because there are more legal guns, but rather because the population is higher
That's gun crime per capita, those statistics are always per capita. Per capita the gun crime in the U.S. is much higher than most other developed nations, which I cited above.

It was banned.
Too bad formal militaries can't use Napalm against human beings.
:smug:
Doesn't matter. Fact is, countries with strict gun control generally still have fewer firearm deaths than the U.S.
yeah it's a shame we can't burn innocent civilians to death anymore. what is this world coming to? also I'm going to repost this for the second page:
I was pointing out a flaw in somebody's post. Not saying napalm should be legal. You jump at anything you can.
I was pointing out a flaw in somebody's post. Not saying napalm should be legal. You jump at anything you can.
Sorry, you just phrased it that way. It's not like FP isn't full of people who are willing to defend any atrocity in the name of military fetishism.
Doesn't matter. Fact is, countries with strict gun control generally still have fewer firearm deaths than the U.S.
so having guns present makes people commit crimes with them ok, it can't be that people are buying illegal guns because they've grown up knowing the only way to survive is to have an illegal gun and commit crimes with it
it can't be that people are buying illegal guns because they've grown up knowing the only way to survive is to have an illegal gun and commit crimes with it
Don't you think that might be a result of growing up in a society filled with gun crime?
I call bullshit on India having 1/3 the shootings per capita as the US. It is such a densely populated country with such sparse and often ineffective law enforcement that I bet most of what goes on never even gets reported, let alone dealt with. Also in order to duck the inevitable "They'll switch to knives when guns are banned." argument it is better to cite homicide rates per capita rather than just the firearm homicides.

Reminds me of the article that said guncrime went up after the gunban in Britain.
Also in order to duck the inevitable "They'll switch to knives when guns are banned." argument it is better to cite homicide rates per capita rather than just the firearm homicides.
Overall homicide rates per capita are similar. The page I linked to has those right along side firearm homicide rates. [editline]10:50AM[/editline]
Reminds me of the article that said guncrime went up after the gunban in Britain.
regardless of whether or not that is true, gun crime in Britain (PER CAPITA) is still a tiny, tiny fraction of what it is in the U.S.
There was several articles about gun purchases at the end of last year. People were afraid of Obama's pending restrictions on guns, so they stocked up while they could. As for the decrease in crime, I don't have the slightest clue.

Europe may have lower crime rates, but Switzerland, in which firearms are even more prevalent and accepted in society (ever wonder why Hitler didn't attack the Swiss) has an extremely low crime rate, and an even smaller percent is gun related. What's annoying are those Brink's security commercials where the alarm scares off some crazed meth-head with a crowbar. A .357 does the same thing.
Violent Crime in the U.S. has been on a steady decline in the U.S. for a while man.
That is true, but 10% is quite a large drop. Out of the ordinary, I believe.
What's annoying are those Brink's security commercials where the alarm scares off some crazed meth-head with a crowbar. A .357 does the same thing.
Yes but the latter scenario doesn't involve having your daughter watch a man's head getting blown off and probably being traumatized for the rest of her life.
Don't you think that might be a result of growing up in a society filled with gun crime?
filled with gun crime that has little or nothing to do with the legal guns which are registered and regulated.
stop the merry-go-round I want to get off
will do, bro.
Okay, let's assume he ISN'T scared off by the alarm. He enters the house, commits whatever crime he had intended, and leaves before the alarm system guy even calls. Then, even if you do manage to answer the phone, it will take another 10-20 minutes for the police to get there. I'm not pulling this out of my ass either. A family member is a 911 dispatcher.
