Another great example that firearm regulation has little to nothing to do with homicides committed with them.
The US has an issue with poverty and gang violence. The solution by this point isn't to tighten regulation or completely ban them, they're already armed with illegally obtained weapons and that would simply worsen the problem since it would make legitimate law abiding citizens defenseless from crime. The solution would be to counter and discourage gangs from developing in the first place and to start more businesses, opening more job opportunies to those who would resort to crime as a living. Improving police forces, local security, and encouraging civillian populace to arm themselves would also help.
Optimistic maybe, but with time it could be accomplished.
I think The first two solutions are a bit more practical. The last one is stupid and will only spiral out of control.
cuz, you know, spreading mass paranoia is pretty retarded.
This is realistic, right?
How isn't it? A CZ-75B is just a 9mm semi-auto pistol.
For some reason I think that these 'murders' are still increasing, the difference is more people have guns, so it winds up becoming self-defense.
Self defense is not murder, if that's what you're implying. If you aren't, my mistake, your post is worded in an odd fashion.

Oh dear, to think, I thought it was gun crime.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_violence#Homicides_by_country
The firearm homicide rate in the U.S. is 3 times as high as India, 6 times as high as switzerland, and 25 times as high as England.
Don't complain about it being wikipedia, it's all sourced
Well of course, it is gun crime.
What about overall homicide rates?
Firearm homicide rate

I didn't say it would be a solution, it would atleast help somewhat though to improve law enforcement and security. A fine example is the Virginia Tech massacre; numerous deaths could of been avoided if they atleast had armed security.
I do agree that it could result in paranoia; people killing robbers over trivial things. A good way to counter this could be to educate the population on legal amounts of force depending on the scenario and have punishment for exceeding this; Which the latter is already done. The former not too many people are aware about and think it's fine to go vigilante and attack a criminal when their life isn't in imminent danger.
Let's focus on the problems, not guess a band aid solution to the side effects.
