Even when I drank soda on a regular basis(like a liter of Dr. Pepper a day), I still found water incredibly satisfying. Soda has a slight acidic burn to it, and doesn't really sate thirst. Water has no burn, has an excellent flavor, and sates that thirst like a boss.

I can't drink water with any of my meals or snacks, it always tastes like the last thing I ate, only diluted.
But when I'm not eating, I try to drink water more often.
