Not just Islam, all religion does far more harm than good, and needs to move to the 21st century.
way to generalize religion. What about Hinduism or Buddhism?
"We're not in 1000BC anymore"
Too bad Islam came around in the 700 AD time period.
The funny thing is, alcohol has been around since 10,000BC. Even though the substance pre-dates their religion by 10,000 years they still haven't caught up with the modern world.
We should tolerate and welcome these kinds of people into our country!
You just drank an alcoholic beverage. Die!
Iran is so fucking retarded.
Typical Islam. They really need to move into the 21st century, we aren't in 1000BC anymore.
I don't care what time period it is, this doesn't make sense in any time.
Sharia Law really has nothing to do with logical punishment or proper deterrent from people committing crimes.
Good. Fucking scumbags and their sinful liquor.
Typical Islam. They really need to move into the 21st century, we aren't in 1000BC anymore.
Actually. 1000BC was way more liberal than 1000AD was. Y'see 1000BC had no Catholic church or any major organized religions to control the masses, which made all the difference in the world.
Why do they even bother making news articles about these countries that are stuck in the medieval times?
If you dig deep enough you could fill an entire book with shit like this that happens there on daily basis.
way to generalize religion. What about Hinduism or Buddhism?
Buddhism may be the only exception.
But as stated before religion should have disappeared by the 20th century,it has no place in a modern civilized society.
This is stupid.
According to sharia law those who consume alcohol must be lashed not less than 40 times and not more than 80 times. And there is nothing about execution for repeat offend.
But the iranian Muslims are under the Shiite (also known as Shia) denomination which thankfully is very small compared to the Sunni. And if you are to meet a Shiite and a Sunni Muslim. You can totally see the difference, the Shiite Muslims are rude and brute. So I guess its a no surprise.
I take Islamic Studies in my school.
Whoa, when did this become r/atheism?
I mean, this is horrible, but there is a fucking difference between religious extremism and just religion.
To be honest, the issue in this case is that religious extremism is the one with more command and power. And religious moderation on the other hand is locked off from the power in the country currently.
