I'm sure I can live my life without having twitter and facebook strapped to my wrist
I kinda don't understand the appeal of smartwatches
I mean its neat that you can make them into a smart device but, what am I gonna use it for that my phone or tablet can't do?

They aren't meant to replace a phone or tablet. That's a misconception. They are intended to work with the phone and augment it.

or you can wear it on whatever wrist that isn't currently in use and have porn ready to view at arms length at all times.

I can't help but think they'd do this

I still can't believe that 'getting your heart beats and sharing it with your friends' is a totally ok selling point, like what the fuck.

Gotta sell the unsellable somehow
Apple was never an innovative company
post-woz apple was not a innovative company
An iphone already tells the time, and you can call people with it...so whats the point in an iwatch that can do everything an iphone does but probably doesn't make calls.
I don't see the point in this thing.
post-woz apple was not a innovative company
Woz-capable Apple weren't much better really. The most innovative thing they did was the one big thing we love Woz for, making desktop PCs actually usable. But half the shit they used even then was stuff that other companies either didn't try to, or failed to sell to the public.
That's pretty much all Apple do, take things that weren't selling, and market them so well they sell like mad (and make everybody believe that Apple did it first somehow). Their designs aren't that strong a point any more considering how hard other companies have stepped up their design game.
I've got a Sony Smart Watch 2 and I actually like it a lot. It looks good, (imo) it's not too flashy, it shows me the information I'd like, it's customizable, (albeit, finally after months) and overall the battery life is fantastic.
I get quite a bit of use out of it too; it's definitely something I don't regret getting.

Better yet, a self winding mechanical watch that is mostly transparent so you can see the gears.
HNNNNGGGG.

To be perfectly honest, I'm not sold on the circular screen. I'd rather go for a rectangular one like the Apple watch.
If I'm intending to use it as a watch, and occasionally do phone stuff with it: Round screen.
If I'm intending to do future shit with it all day, and only use the watch face so I can pretend it's purpose it actually to be a watch: Square screen.
pebble is the best smartwatch tbh
Think different...
and give in to the complacency that makes us freaking rich.
Is this text from Apple or just a parody about Apple's future advertising about their watch?

Fuck Apple Watch, get Moto 360!
Everywhere i go i see iphones yet i still dont buy an iphone. This is a stupid article.
yeah but you have a smartphone, right?
The watch still looks pretty decent when worn, that being said I still wouldn't buy one.
All Apple has to do is give a few iWatches to some Justin Bieber like modern celebrities, pay them $1 million dollars to wear those for a few weeks and they'll be everywhere.

Ha, my wrists are too small for a watch. Jokes on you, apple!

The moto watches are an extension of android and only function as an android watch. The Apple Watch is an extension of iOS and functions like an apple watch.
Are you guys solely against the design of the watch? Both products are capable of doing what a phone can do, but the Apple Watch includes fitness and other iOS apps that extend over to your phone with synching. I can pay with the watch instead of bringing out a credit card. The google wallet works the same way and is incorporated onto some phones with the NFC chips. Since that's not on iPhones, that would justify getting an apple watch. Compared to android watches, there's no difference except for payment, which I'd assume is probably going to be on a few android watches.
What is the point of getting a smart watch at all? Regardless of Android or Apple making it? They're both the same thing. A watch with apps.

It comes in two sizes:
The Apple Watch is designed to be both functional and fashionable, available in two sizes of 38mm and 42mm (1.5 and 1.7 inches), with six different casing materials and six separate interchangeable band options. Organized into three separate collections, from the simple "Sport" to the high-end luxury "Edition," the Apple Watch has been created to appeal to a wide range of tastes.

No. A phone can do stuff, but the watches can't do sh*t without a phone.
