Decomposed body discovered in shed behind house in Detroit

Sadly Flint and Pontiac are just about as run down and filled with criminal activity as well. Saginaw is right behind them too. It's a shame nobody went for the idea to re organize the city and move people into more concentrated areas, PD coverage would've been more effective and public services in general. Crime would probably drop and people could enjoy atleast parts of the city again.
The whole area is changing. My Grandmother used to live in Redford(About 15-20 minutes from Detroit) but we had to get her out of her house as soon as we could. Within a year she had 2 instances where her house was broken into, and one time where she woke up to someone actually stealing jewelry from her bedroom. The area's changing real fast. My dad works for Detroit Diesel and he can't even go out to a restaurant to get lunch because of how bad it is(He works midnight shift). On the way to work he usually just blows through red lights if no one is coming since he's almost been mugged 6 times from thugs at the corner.
Damn, sounds like Detroit is literally worse than Mogadishu.
Every time Detroit is mentioned, i imagine a dystopian post apocalyptic city where 'hunter killer' terminators patrol the skies.
It was those fucking hipsters I bet!
Man, Detroit sure sounds like an unearthly place to live in. I met a girl from there once, and she would almost always wear her headphones and go around dancing with her music in the streets here in Spain. When I asked her why did she always do that, she answered me that there are a lot of places back in her area in Detroit where she can't go around showing her iPod or her apple headphones, or she risks someone bad realizes that she's carrying something valuable and mugs her, or worse. She always had that "survival instinct" present whenever she talked to you about it.
Tough shit, man.
I'm sure that isn't the worst part in detroit. It's more or less the same here.
Just your daily reminder that detroit is 142 sq miles and the actual downtown/midtown area of detroit is only about 7.2 sq miles. The whole city isn't as bad as it's made out to be.

I feel like you and I are the only ones who actually live in the downtown/midtown area of the city. It's frustrating to see all of these threads about how Detroit is a warzone when we can see how beautiful this place actually is.
I went to Detroit once; I never took my flak jacket off the entire time.

Many people tend to look that way at Detroit because of the financial situation. There are good areas, yes, but there are a lot of bad areas where it's all boarded up homes, no street lights, and nothing but vandalism. Downtown isn't that bad, it's when you get to the suburbs. It's all changing, though.
Instead of buying an island i think we need to put money together to get FP members living in Detroit or near enough to it the fuck out of there.
