I swear all you Americans got your priorities messed up.
But alcohol was the driving force in this violence, and last time we banned that things didn't go so well.
I secretly wish gun debates never happened on Facepunch because people cannot act rational in them and always start them up randomly with an objectivity that is baseless. I hate both sides. I don't like sitting next to people who froth at the mouth and are quick to call each other "stupid" and get mad over next to nothing. The escalation (including in response) is amazing.
I'm a bit of a gun nut, but even I would be cool with shit like this if the government wouldn't abuse it. Which they eventually would.
But alcohol was the driving force in this violence, and last time we banned that things didn't go so well.
Honestly, the image we have of alcohol in America is pretty gross in my opinion. I'm definitely the contrarian in that thought and everyone loves their alcohol, and I'm not suggesting that alcohol should be banned, just not romanticized as much as it is. It's part of this image of what it means to be social, and I don't think that people really look at alcohol really knowing what they're getting into. Stuff like this will remain glossed over in favor of a Super Bowl ad that teaches people that they should be drinking when they're out and I think that if it was looked at much more like a harder drug you wouldn't have a lot of accidents as you would with that. Strangely enough, lowering the drinking age and getting rid of last call at bars is a start. It teaches people to not go insane with it when they become of age since they're probably going to learn to drink with their parents. Some parts of Europe seems to have drinking all figured out, man. Part of the other problem that I see with this is what if the driver was getting drunk to escape from something and only reacted the way he did because some weird vulnerable state of mind? Dunno. It doesn't excuse it, but that's the main thing I'm interested in.
Wow :/
Guns debate aside, I'd like to find out what the results of toxicology, blood sugar, scan of the brain, psych evaluation, etc reveals for the shooter. This isn't normal for somebody's immediate reaction to be "I'm gonna shoot the next son of a birch I see." after getting into a vehicle accident.
Because I'm tired of reading threads where if a gun is anywhere mentioned in the article or hell even in a post people just shit themselves over it.
idk about you man i think getting shot usually involves guns and intoxication and crazies but still guns Not saying BAN GUNS BAUN GUNS but this guy probably couldn't have done the same amount of damage if he didn't have a gun.
Can mentioning gun control or gun debates outside of gun control news be banable please
I don't mind gun debates but people that stir shit up intentionally should get banned, it's annoying to read
Stuff like this is why I would never pull over to help someone; I'd stop a good distance away, call the police, and go on my way.
He had to be on something, maybe he was drunk. Also I wonder if he really had a full auto pistol or if they just don't know what they're talking about.
A lot of semi-automatic pistols are referred to as 'automatic. The full military designation of the M1911 for example is "Pistol, Caliber .45, Automatic, M1911A1
"oh wow that's like, a short drive from me" has been my response about this and many other stories recently... why is it that most of these ratchet ass stories about gutter trash garbage people seem to have occurred just up the street from me in bumfuck north carolina? it's ridiculous there are decent people here, I swear, they're just few and far between this area features >2.5x the national average crime rate in both property and violent crime every year for the past decade or so, man it's far out. mental health is a very serious issue here.
idk about you man i think getting shot usually involves guns and intoxication and crazies but still guns Not saying BAN GUNS BAUN GUNS but this guy probably couldn't have done the same amount of damage if he didn't have a gun.
He was also in a car, which could have done arguably more damage if he didn't crash it.
This is the second time i've heard about someone shooting someone that's trying to help them in the US. How often does this happen?
This is the second time i've heard about someone shooting someone that's trying to help them in the US. How often does this happen?
Not very often. US is a big place, lots of good Samaritans not getting shot
Man what the fuck. Gun owners should have mandatory reoccurring psyche evaluations. That is, after they clean up the private sale loophole. As well as require permits to purchase a gun in all states. And mandatory firearm registration. Maybe throw a safety course in there as well. You know, just the most basic and rational things when it comes to something like firearms.
Dude must have had some major issues.
I wonder what forums he posted on about Obummer and Hitlery Clinton trying to take his guns away.
How to shitpost, everyone! :goodjob:
Stuff like this is why I would never pull over to help someone; I'd stop a good distance away, call the police, and go on my way.
Or never to visit the USA. :v: Just kidding, but isn't that sad actually? I mean, some years ago the worst thing that could have happen is that the guy is drunk and tries to beat the shit out of you. Nowadays everything seems to be more and more extreme.
