North Korea warns residents to evacuate South islands
Are we actually going to have anything?
Why can't we have a thread posted that says "NORTH KOREA ACTUALLY BACKS UP THEIR WORDS" instead of all these ones which are vague threats and warnings and the leader shouting?
Don't worry, the thread that initiates the toxx clause will probably come by soon enough.
WW3?
how would that even be "WW3"
It'd be more like Korean War II [sp]Electric Boogaloo[/sp]
You'd think if they were going to attack, they'd do it without warning rather than let the whole world know first.
They'll throw some arty on some random island, the world sends angry letters, end of story. Same as last time.
I think this time if they pulled that it would lead to a full scale conflict, just because it seems like the US and SK are really getting tired of NK's shit

I think at this point the question is not, "What will North Korea do," but rather, "How will the US and SK respond?"
So seems like they are going to do what they did few years ago, bomb some little island with artillery. But unlike that time they are atleast polite enough to inform about it before they do it.
That is the most logical conclusion, but if they are completely mad they are going to occupy the islands.

Exactly. When they first shelled the island it was kind of surprising they didnt get attacked for it, now with tensions much higher I wouldnt expect the same courtesy now

Probably by striking whatever they attack with, then wait for nK to de-escalate. If they don't then continue to strike key points to further degrade their military as a whole.
Can't wait.
Cant wait to see what NK thinks they have up their sleeves, I mean come on, going against two of the most technilogichaly advanced*people in the world (Samsung and USA)?

That's the thing; the South Korean government has promised an escalated response.

South Korea launched counter-battery fire towards the North Korean batallion that launched the attack, but it's unknown how much damage it did or caused.

If the US/SK is really as sick of NK's shit as we are, and NK goes through with this strike, it's the perfect excuse for us to go all out first, and get the upper hand by fully employing our naval and air capabilities and hit NK where it hurts early. I hope it doesn't come to that ofcourse, I wish NK would just stop.
Nothing's going to happen.
Didn't another article say that NK are doing this kind of pseudo-provocation action stuff just to bolster their own people's morale to help them during a food shortage?
That's the thing; the South Korean government has promised an escalated response.
Wouldn't that mean that sK would respond in self defense toward whatever attacks them, rather than going all out and striking facilities that didn't play a part of the initial strike toward sK? Because if I can recall, sK hasn't completely fought back when the islands were struck in the past.

We wouldn't be sure if nK is just testing the US/SK with the shelling of the NW islands. That's why I feel that we would de-escalate. If they continue with their shit then it would be the perfect time to go all out on them.
But that's where I'm confused on this whole subject. Why would nK go out of their way to shell the NW islands, and completely disregard what they were set out to do in the first initial phase of an attack (scud/arty the fuck out of sK, specifically Seoul and military bases)?

So you know what they're going to do? Enlighten us.
So you know what they're going to do? Enlighten us.
I don't, but it's not really relevant; they're not going to launch a full-scale attack. Shelling an island, sinking a ship; the Southern response will be the same.

Personally I'm not looking forward to the day when that thread is posted.
That's just off the top of my head. I'd be here all night listing every time NK killed a person or blew something up.
NK has to have some ace up their sleeve that we don't know about. I feel like I read something about NK and Iran have a meet and greet not too long ago. And with Iran somewhat recently being accused of manufacturing nuclear weapons, would it not be entirely implausible for Iran to be using NK to do their dirty work, at least a little bit?
/conspiracy theory
I do recall seeing a photo of the Syrian president in North Korea, what I cant recall is the legitimacy of said photos.
Hell yeah! I hope this turns out to be some historical stuff so i can have something to tell to my grandchildren.
