First it was Germans, then Irish, then Orientals, then Mexicans etc. It's happened to ethnic minorities in nearly any culture on Earth and it will continue to happen. The less intelligent will always follow the propaganda spewed by the rich religious right (currently Fox) in the U.S. The best we can hope for is for our country to become more educated on these issues but it will probably continue until some other minority will become a scapegoat. This backlash against Muslims has been occurring even in "progressive Europe." At least we haven't banned minarets yet.
