To be honest I'm mostly annoyed at the idiots who just take everything the media says word for word and blame BP for something they really didn't have much control over. Transocean and Haliburton should pay in full all reparations for this.
It's much easier to overlook the fact that the government really dropped the ball in terms of inspections. Not to mention the incredibly slow response of the feds. BP has been the one spending the money on the cleanup and efforts to stop the rush of oil. I think they do share some blame, but this disaster should be seen as an indication of the catastrophe that is government/oil industry orgy.
Exxon Valdez was 30 years ago now?
Exxon valdez was about 20 years ago. Ixtoc about 30.
BP's well, BP's staff, BP's problem.
BP's problem, maybe. But it wasn't their staff nor was it their rig.
BP's problem, maybe. But it wasn't their staff nor was it their rig.
Everyone seems to have their mind set that it was their rig.
Everyone seems to have their mind set that it was their rig.
Because it's easier to simply blame BP than face the fact that there are some serious problems within the government that allow for such lax safety standards.
