Assange needs to stop groping women for secret government files
Assange is now James Bond.
I believe that this is a bluff and I highly doubt any world ending will occur.
I believe that this is a bluff and I highly doubt any world ending will occur.
Well yeah, undoubtedly it's more of the same that's already been released, and nothing too catastrophic. However, those holding Assenge prisoner have to ask themselves if it's worth the risk.
Lassagne.
also it's irrelevant if FBI/CIA/NSA whatever cracks the code since they already have what is in the file
you should be debating more on "what if Russia or China cracks that open".
They wont unless they torture someone for it, the encryption has 2^256 combinations.
At worst it'll be about the BP spill being an 'inside job'.
Most likely it's some obscure banter from politicians, if it was just an empty bluff, they run the risk of losing credibility if it somehow gets released.

I hope it's something like that just to see the amusing media shit storm.
Well, he's been arrested. I hope it gets released and turns out to be something way better than idle banter between embassies.
It's actually a combination between Bobby sands and Che Guevera actually, it's more about the catholic/protestant conflict in Belfast where my family's from. I bought this shit in support at the Sinn Fein office on Falls road in Belfast, if that makes any difference to you.
ah
I just assumed you were being the stereotypical "hurr revolution XD" angsty teen
sorry for that
The sensationalism on this forum regarding wikileaks (from both sides of the debate) is unprecedented. I've never seen anything like it before.
It would seem the only "news" in the news section is anything regarding Wikileaks. What a coincidence.
Being part of a revolution with good ideals, to overthrow a corrupt power has a certain glorious notion to it. Now to say the entire government is corrupt is very childish and naive. I'm just saying there is corruption out there that we previously didn't even know existed up until the internet appeared.
The free transfer of information is a beatiful site to see. And I wish to take a radical side that glorifies freedom than one that clearly does not. (As in, taking sites down, making restrictions on the internet)
In the next 10 years we will watch the beautiful internet that we all love (For a variety of reasons) collapse and fade. Say goodbye to free pornography. Say goodbye to a lot of things you take for granted while you're online.
Look at how fun Hl2 was.

Car crash, healthcare, an unusual murder, a couple of threads about video games and kids to day, and a few thread about the current big thing. Isn't that what this section always is?
This overhyped file will turn out to be a non interesting report from iraq about some civ's murdered by US troops. and some movies to fill the 1.39 GB
It has to be sex tapes...
and some movies to fill the 1.39 GB
they'll all be copyrighted too for maximum trolling
That may be true, but if he didn't have his life line, he would've been killed a long time a go. He needs it to be able to further leaks things.
But then I don't get why everyone reveres him like he's some sort of idealistic rebel crusader when he can suspend the principle he claims to be acting on to help himself.

I'm still expecting something completely obvious.
angst in 13 year olds (majority of this forum) is annoying
Pretty much ANYTHING 13 year olds do is annoying.
You know, like "Putin was an escaped Soviet super soldier experiment."

I wasn't being literal. Do those other threads reach 10+ pages over night? Nah, usually they don't. I'm just trying to emphasize how sensationalised wikileaks has become recently and how obvious it is in our community.
But then I don't get why everyone reveres him like he's some sort of idealistic rebel crusader when he can suspend the principle he claims to be acting on to help himself.
I understand that. But maybe half the stuff in that file is information he's withheld for good reason. Maybe he's had ridiculous secrets that really would cause some serious problems..
The worst part is that you don't know what it is.

Obama masturbating.

I see your point, but I don't think it is safe to take such a radical side of the debate, on either side. I'm all for the freedom of information, but I also understand the need for the government to keep some things secret.
He's like the modern day equivalent of Che Guevara, except he's Australian and not a poor farmer.
Meaning young angsty teenagers will swoon over Julian Assange like girls to Justin Bieber.
Che was rich and was in med school before he joined the cause of revolution.
He was on a road trip with his friend when he started getting communist beliefs by seeing poor people in south america.
Well, it isn't dangerous.
The doomsday file is the last part of "Nailin' Palin."
The doomsday file is the last part of "Nailin' Palin."
Or the "Life of Brian" movie starring Assange
So for all of you bandwagoners who think he should be released...
He's holding a password to an encrypted file that no one knows what it holds, could be a virus, nuke codes, who the fuck knows what. He is trying to blackmail himself out of punishment. That's not wrong?
It's probably Rorschach's journal.

We don't know what it is. So no I can't really say its wrong. And a lot of people would use blackmail against people trying to persecute them.

You don't have to be a bandwagoner to see the potential in wikileaks being a good thing.
