Regarding this there is a lot of mixed opinions and is pretty much as far away from being a bandwagon as humanly possible. And I wouldn't say he's blackmailing himself out of punishment. I'd say it's a way for him to stay alive at this point. As there are a lot of people out for his blood. If I got this straight. All he want to do is to release all the 251 000 cables. Which is released with a rate of ~100 a day since the 28th (so that media got time to soak it all up). We don't know what the "doomsday" file might contain. It is possible that it's fake. Or contain information not as devastating as predicted. We simply don't know. Nukes? Virus? Now that's just stupid.

Normally, I'd support this guy, because I believe the government shouldn't hide anything from anyone, except for those [i]special[/i] documents, but since he's releasing those documents, he can go fuck himself.

I wouldn't worry too much, unless his employees are extremely loyal to him or just incredibly stupid, I don't think they would release it.
