So for all of you bandwagoners who think he should be released...
He's holding a password to an encrypted file that no one knows what it holds, could be a virus, nuke codes, who the fuck knows what. He is trying to blackmail himself out of punishment. That's not wrong?
He wouldn't release shit like nuke codes or a virus. That is impossible.
The reason why he is blackmailing people is because the information in that file are TOP STATE SECRETS of many countries around the world.
If they are released, they would change the world forever, and we must know the truth.
This guy's a fucking asshole. Shoot him, now. How can he release something when he's fucking dead?
Yay, boxes!!!
I rated Agree! You are Right!
We should kill him and all that work for him.
Yeah. Kill him and create cyber-jesus corruption crusader.

So you're going to murder innocent people, whistle-blowers and a few people who actually broke a low, make a martyr out of them all and get the passphrase to the insurance file released. For what?
we must know the truth.
Why? Because there's some chance it could be evidence of corruption?
What if the whole thing is in Webdings and you can't change the font :ohdear:

So disagreeing with you = bandwagon?
Sounds like someone needs a lesson about the differences of opinions and facts.

How come everyone turns into bandwagoners these days? Regarding this there is a lot of mixed opinions and is pretty much as far away from being a bandwagon as humanly possible.
And I wouldn't say he's blackmailing himself out of punishment. I'd say it's a way for him to stay alive at this point. As there are a lot of people out for his blood.
If I got this straight. All he want to do is to release all the 251 000 cables. Which is released with a rate of ~100 a day since the 28th (so that media got time to soak it all up).
We don't know what the "doomsday" file might contain. It is possible that it's fake. Or contain information not as devastating as predicted. We simply don't know.
Nukes? Virus? Now that's just stupid.

DINGDINGDING!!
you're getting closer, bub.

Stupid why? You just said yourself you don't know what it contains. Don't contradict.

Oh, okay. So risk homeland security because there's SOME LITTLE CHANCE of some corruption in the government.
No shit there's corruption, they're government employees that can't be fired. I'd rather feel safe and sound than maybe expose some assholes, and all kinds of holes in our defenses at the same time.
Stupid why? You just said yourself you don't know what it contains. Don't contradict.
Don't turn this on me. At least I'm being reasonable.

He's not trying to manipulate the courts or governments for a get out of jail free card with it, the whole of Wikileaks is using it like a M.A.D. weapon, it's contents are irrelevant as long as everyone stays cool.

He has probably committed rape, He has broken the espionage act of 1917, has stated that his perpous is to harm the U.S.A., and he would be guilty of treason if only he was a us citizen.

Not trying to manipulate the courts?! He's threatening to release some "super-leak" FFS.
Normally, I'd support this guy, because I believe the government shouldn't hide anything from anyone, except for those special documents, but since he's releasing those documents, he can go fuck himself.
I wouldn't worry too much, unless his employees are extremely loyal to him or just incredibly stupid, I don't think they would release it.
The rape charge is just ridiculous.
Not trying to manipulate the courts?! He's threatening to release some "super-leak" FFS.
Wikileaks has threatened to release it if everything goes to hell, Assanage probably doesn't even know the passphrase and has handed himself in.

According to several news sources, and several interviews done by CNN, It's Assanage threatening.
Not trying to manipulate the courts?! He's threatening to release some "super-leak" FFS.
Again, he is not using it as a weapon against them, but as a net for himself. He doesn't demand anything. If he stays safe the documents might never even be released.
Not trying to manipulate the courts?! He's threatening to release some "super-leak" FFS.
So? if the Governments DID their job, the leak would've been harmless.
But since they've been trying to hide something under the rug, and now are nervous of it being discovered, that means they maybe haven't been doing such a great job after all.

Yeaaahhhhh, about that...
Again, he is not using it as a weapon against them, but as a net for himself. He doesn't demand anything. If he stays safe the documents might never even be released.
Blackmail. Don't do the crime if you don't want to do the time.
When he was about to release all those government cables a week or so ago, he mentioned they would change the world as we know it... they sure did.
Now, he mentions he has a "doomsday" kind of leak... all I can say is OMFG, Assange... what the christ are you up to?
So? if the Governments DID their job, the leak would've been harmless.

They're afraid of security leaks. I doubt they want people knowing floor plans of NORAD and locations of certain weapon stockpiles.

Say that do the governments who broke laws in the first place.
Who's blackmailing who, really?
Okay Sweden, you made me do this!!!

He's not up for reap, but a sexual misdemeanour. He hasn't leaked anything himself, only published them.

Fair enough, but it's not his job to run a site and approve the leaking of sensitive data, he doesn't control what's leaked on that site. He's allowing classified data to be leaked, "exposing truth" or exposing actual sensitive information, he doesn't give a shit apparently.
