Fair enough, but it's not his job to run a site and approve the leaking of sensitive data, he doesn't control what's leaked on that site. He's allowing classified data to be leaked, "exposing truth" or exposing actual sensitive information, he doesn't give a shit apparently.
That's exactly what it is and what he does.
Yeah. Kill him and create cyber-jesus corruption crusader.
More of a cyberdemon for the governments :v:
That's exactly what it is and what he does.
It's his website, and he knows what goes on. If people posted kiddie porn here, wouldn't Garry be responsible for taking care of it?
It's his website, and he knows what goes on. If people posted kiddie porn here, wouldn't Garry be responsible for taking care of it?
Alright, you've lost me. I'm going to bed. Good night
Alright, you've lost me. I'm going to bed. Good night
How did I lose you? It's the same fucking concept.
i vote to dismantle CIA it's a dumb organization
I vote to dismantle the agency that has several times thwarted attempts to harm the citizens of a country because I don't like that they won't tell me everything makes perfect sense
This makes me lose some respect for him. In essence what the site is doing is good, but he's becoming a bit insane with it.
If he ever gets to trial you can bet everyone will be corrupt his only bet is to get something on the judge.
So? if the Governments DID their job, the leak would've been harmless. But since they've been trying to hide something under the rug, and now are nervous of it being discovered, that means they maybe haven't been doing such a great job after all.
Yea, but he released a file full of strategically important locations recently iirc. How is that the united states not doing it's job? seems more like a legitimate attempt to do damage to me.
This makes me lose some respect for him. Even if everyone hates him for it. Thats the sacrifice he’s making. He’s not being a hero. He’s being something more.
When you're in a position where you understand the importance of keeping things like battleplans and locations of strategically important resources a secret, it's extremely clear that Assange and his chronies are doing far more harm than good.

Thats the sacrifice he’s making. He’s not being a hero. He’s being something more.
Still, some of the leaks seem pointless. Like leaking info about the US offering to protect Baltic countries from Russia. Not knowing that doesn't really harm anyone and telling everyone that just pisses off Russia and causes even more unneeded tension. How is starting a war beneficial to anyone?
is it wrong that I want him to die now? also 10$ on aliens or that the government shuts down the whole internet so it doesnt get shown
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess all major governments already know what's in that file.
Still, some of the leaks seem pointless. Like leaking info about the US offering to protect Baltic countries from Russia.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess all major governments already know what's in that file.
No one knows yet, the government says they're trying to decrypt it, but governments have been known to lie in the past.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess all major governments already know what's in that file.
And I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it's most likely something really fucking nasty about the US government. Just a feeling.
No one knows yet, the government says they're trying to decrypt it, but governments have been known to lie in the past.
I wonder what they're using to attempt to decrypt it.
if it aliens, a 9/11 cover up or a video of bush making a racist joke it will be a little disapointing
It's his website, and he knows what goes on. If people posted kiddie porn here, wouldn't Garry be responsible for taking care of it?
Garry can't get in trouble if people post CP here Laws in most countries protect the neutrality of website operators as they are a service provider The people posting CP will get arrested though
I wonder if the right to free press would protect the wikileaks founder
And I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it's most likely something really fucking nasty about the US government. Just a feeling.
Any specifics as to what you're expecting? Just interested.
Any specifics as to what you're expecting? Just interested.
Hmmm nothing in particular, like I said, it's just a feeling
Julian assange is a dick. I liked him for releasing the iraq war files but now he's just releasing files to intentionally make people look bad and make himself look good, and now he's threatening to release something so catastrophic that it's labeled "the doomsday" file? christ, what an asshole
wikileaks is going to destroy the world yay... right before christmas too
I wonder if he's a fan of my work.
Garry can't get in trouble if people post CP here Laws in most countries protect the neutrality of website operators as they are a service provider The people posting CP will get arrested though
In the UK its been proven in court (might have changed since I last heard about it, I am sure someone with better knowledge will correct me if I am wrong) that content on a community site (IE a forum) is the responsibility of the owner and they could be charged it someone hosted illegal content. But I guess laws like this depend on where the site is hosted, and Wikileaks is all over the place.
wikileaks is going to destroy the world yay... right before christmas too
Merry Christmas
I don't like what this guy's doing. Not exactly him, everybody who's giving him those files. [editline]7th December 2010[/editline] But him too. He's the one who spreads it, and most likely gets paid for it.
