How did this go from a intelligence version of MAD to neurochemistry?
So basically if he releases the doomsday file we will wake up with nukes flying over our heads?
Assange is a hypocrite. "I'm doing this for freedom of information except when it benefits me to withhold information to save my ass"
How did this go from a intelligence version of MAD to neurochemistry?
I don't know, but Godwin's law still isn't in play yet, so that's something. Still, this seems like an unfalsifiable threat, sure he got arrested anyway, but they couldn't prove whether or not he did have such a file unless he got arrested. Considering his website a threat like that could hold weight, scared me a little.
Holy jesus, that just made my head hurt. Interesting nonetheless. You said something about not knowing which part of the brain releases DMT? Scienceforums link mentions the pineal gland. Still, people have been known to have dreams that affect them badly, even though we all have it. Experiments with DMT could be either unreliable or dangerous.
Bad dreams can fuck you up pretty bad too. Like that one I had when I was 12 where I was in a rusting red ship floating in an endless void, with brains plugged into the walls that chittered and sputtered about the end of life and the coming plague that would turn my flesh to polythene.
How did this go from a intelligence version of MAD to neurochemistry?
Well, the release of the files got compared to the ban on research and testing of a synthesized version of DMT and I forget the rest.

I had a whole slew of nightmares, including one where I had to fend them off with a cricket bat, and I watched through my window as people ran through the streets screaming and dissolving.
Assange is a true man. ITT: Doomsday-file = LOL SECRETS, WE ATTACK ALL COUNTRIES NAOW WITH NUKES!
Doomsday file = Crazy WW3 prediction.
The world needs wars, as horrible as it may sound.
Secret file is the world leaders sex tape
This is awesome (and I mean that in the "awe-inspiring" sense of the word,) Assange has become the centre of the entire world in a matter of months. It's like a bond film, only more realistic.
Yep, he's even a womaniser :v:
I think we all can agree that the Doomsday Device is actually the finished version of Duke Nukem: Forever. It's doomsday because no mortal human mind can comprehend the Godly level of awesome of it, there be exploding heads everywhere.
Assange is a hypocrite. He needs it to be able to further leaks things.
I am really starting to hate this guy. There was something on the news talking about his arrest and the list he released previously that listed vital U.S locations, stating that even if terrorists don't use the list, other countries has access to it and if they decide to start a war, they will be able to strike these targets after sending spies in to identify each one's security and list the easiest one to take. Nobody gets hurt my ass!
"Destroy the world" sounds a bit exaggerated. I bet it's just something that would cause a little more media fuss, like before.
That may be true, but if he didn't have his life line, he would've been killed a long time a go. :10bux: says the file is empty.
Hope the files involve aliens...and north korea.
Expect every single country's intellegience service does that sort of thing all the time, really.
Ya,that stuff was explained on the news too, but they also said would normally take months or years to gather this information. Assange just made their lives easier by giving them a complete list of every vital facility and where they are; all they just do now is send in the spies, then storm them or destroy them when war breaks out. Good bye helpful facilities, hello domination.
Hoping for alien contact.

A BAE factory that produces parts of US fighter jets? I wonder who could possibly not have thought that was important to the US Main underwater cables for the internet. ditto Main gas lines... etc etc
Assange is a hypocrite. "I'm doing this for freedom of information except when it benefits me to withhold information to save my ass"
Well he is under alot of pressure, being that alot of powerful people want him dead.
KINGDOM OF FEAR. They've done a good job creating hysteria for you to fear the muslim extremists. Some of you people are getting so angry at the wikileaks supporters it's funny. Who gives a fuck? I highly doubt it will cause world war III, I really highly doubt it.
Everybody goes on and on and on and on about WW3. I wish people would just shut up about it and stop being so goddamn eager about a chance for one to start every time any sort of political or military altercation occurs.
Hope the files involve aliens...and north korea.
Of course! It's a copy of Crysis!
Assange is a hypocrite. "I'm doing this for freedom of information except when it benefits me to withhold information to save my ass"
How do you suppose he should survive manslaughter then?
The world needs wars, as horrible as it may sound.
Fuck you. No seriously, fuck you. It doesn't.
Wars can start revolutions, change people's thinking, unify, form new governments, re-draw maps, expand economies etc. When it comes down to it they are a part of human nature that keeps civilization in balance. There's generally so much tension leading up to a war and it creates a lot of problems, eventually is has to erupt so the world can settle.
