How a bull fight ends:

So this is okay and the bull getting a shot isn't?
I wouldn't chance the third time that's for sure.
What a silly tradition
As the saying goes, mess with a bull and you get the horns.
I literally have always thought that bullfighting was just a crazy fucker waving a red cloth at a pissed off steak with legs. Someone please explain how they kill the bulls and what are the spikes others have mentioned? Are they essentially bleeding them out by using some kind of needle like weapon that they stab with every time the bull passes?
ouch

I didn't know that they actually killed Bulls in Bullfighting.
Guess the Warner Brothers mislead me.

Why do you think we see it as barbarian? Only because an idiot sticks several lances on it?
Fact: There are bullfights in Portugal as well, but they don't kill the bull.
Also everytime there was a bullfighting in USA, it wasn't allowed to hurt the animal, so the shard edge of the lances were replaced with velcro. These idiots oposed to at least have that here, and as result, they are pretty much facing the extinction, as practically all the youth opposes this, and most of their followers are already elders.
Well, here's what a typical factory farm looks like:

And here's a pic of the miura bull farm:

I don't know about you but the factory pictures are more 'torturous' (if we're going to use that word) to me than the 2nd pic. These show bulls are better treated than hundreds of millions of people.
Not all ranches are created equal. Those cows above are dairy cows. Dairy cow quality of life can be different from farm to farm depending on how often they milk, how they milk, and how they house their livestock. Those pictures you posted are feeding barns, and they may not be contained there very often. They may have access to pastures, or may be closed inside a bar like that if the day is hot/cold. Some places line them up and milk them three times a day, some places use rotary milk parlors like this and milk only once a day. It really depends:

Cattle ranches are pretty much the same open pastures like your miura bull farm. The factory part comes in when they're slaughtered, which is ideally (not always) instant and pain free.

It pretty much depends on how much the ranch wants to invest in animal welfare. Bull farms can afford to be finicky because they're trying to specifically breed bigger, badder, faster bulls for shows/competitions/riding/fighting. Cattle ranches need volume because they're growing a product.
That's not to say there isn't a lot of animal abuse, but the system can regulated to stop or hinder abuse. Whereas bullfighting bulls are bred to be stabbed to death.

The goal of bullfighting is to stab a bull with spears while dancing around it in flamboyant clothing, and then you stab it with a sword and it dies.

The sooner this blood sports ends, the better. Tradition is the worst excuse for animal cruelty. If you want a sport with bulls, go to bull riding. Still has it's concerns but at least it doesn't revolve around torturing an animal.

asshole or not i feel bad for anyone who has to go through that
Is there even betting involved in bullfights?
Because if majority of the fights are predetermined, like "Yay, the human will most likely kill it eventually, yay" then I don't really see the point. It's not a solo figure skating show for fuck's sake, it's a FIGHT between two entities, and it should be somewhat FAIR. (As fair as a bull vs. man can be.)
So, if we changed the rules a bit, and say the human was armed with only one stabbing weapon, where if you lose it then you will lose the fight. Or something along those lines. Then it might become a considerable sport, with a considerable chance for the human fighter to lose. (Then you get someone to train an unbeatable champion bull.)
Plus, animals that are meant for FIGHTING and some expected PAIN should be treated better, before and after the fights. Certainly better than your average "free-range, shit-yard" cattle. Like receiving medical treatment and some patching up to better recover from wins.
