What is so special about jellyfishes that their genes have to be used everywhere?
Their ability to shine in specific spectrums. One of the very first projects of genetic splicing was to create a grow-in-the-dark rabbit. They've also used jellyfish genes & firefly genes on crops to spook away deer & other threats through light patterns---though that project is still under scrutiny.
This thread made me laugh
Oh God, PLEASE have aliens invade and have us turn into sex slaves.
Such fate is better than this

they're SO asking for it
why would we engineer food creatures to have human faces
are geneticists just fucked up or something?
Indeed, evolution might bring up new type of creatures in the near future, though.

Oh my god nostalgia. :v:
This can't be evolution. Most of these are very unpractical.
Keeping up with the speculative biology topic (via):

These are WAY crazier than the others! So that's how a man could supposedly look like, 50 million years from now? :gonk:
Why would they make vacuum humans and terraforming humans?
Just put advanced space suit on man and there you go, And terraforming is faster with machines anyway.
This is what they thought in the 70's i suppose.
The artstyle this is drawn in makes it so fucking scary and horrifying.
Kinda like this

"it (big brain) will provide him (humans) with physic powers"
what is this writer smoking when he says things like that?

Only speculations. Evolution could go anywhere.
Besides, could you actually believe, that they think themselves beatiful?
Take a look of photos taken not too long ago (90s) and you can see the fugly fashion of the time. Obviously the same will happen again in the future and todays fashion will look so hilarious.
I loved the series "Future Is Wild" and bought all the DVDs.
Machines will take away the use to become such ugly things
:psyduck:
Those images give me a headache
Why do so many of them have human faces? Whyyyyyy?!
Look at the one on the fair left, and imagine it on a disco floor.
Purge them! PURGE THEM ALL! Filth!

Actually, that is from this, that's a "Tundra Dweller"
Now I've found a slightly higher res version, I'm going to make that into a Christmas card and send it to my friends!
Something tell me that these kind of creations would be banned due to ethical issues.
This isn't science, it is complete and utter fiction. I don't even know how the guy who came up with these ideas is even taken seriously in the documentary. It shouldn't say "200 million years in the future" but rather should say "sometime in the future when the orcs die off from middle-earth, there will come into existence a giant squid that walks around in a forest and doesn't like tripping over."

"Raboons"
heh...
The Saber-tooth Yeti looks hilarious to me.

This really isn't horrifying at all, especially since it is attempting to scare because of a false possibility.
