"But there will be a time when we capitalize on the relationship that we have with our audience."
What does this mean? convincing someone to stop standing on his neck?
Wow, what a dickish comment. It's like he doesn't value his customers. Oh wait he probably doesn't. I'm sorry maybe you want to get your head out of your ass because Valve has been doing this since HL2 in 2004.
for those skeptical of this claim, (i lack a decent memory of it personally). however i clearly remember crysis facial animation being very good.
Fuck Kotick [editline]07:41PM[/editline] Right in the ass
I'm sure they're sorry for not living up to your superior opinion, and giving into the want to have fun with friends
Sorry but I'm not chill when the majority of people are willing to buy a rushed game with a 4 hour campaign and serious balance issues for $60, and are also willing to pay $15 for maps that were probably already in the game but removed so they could be used as "DLC". Oh, not to mention that game and the big dick of a Publisher caused more than half the developer studio to leave.
And I thought $12 for a 120 minute movie was bad...
If Konami adopted this model they'd make a KILLING with Metal Gear Solid
yea but thoughs cut sences are WORTH WACTHING unlike COD's
Blizzard's cut scenes are amazing. and Starcraft 2's story would be awkward to "work into game play." Maybe for an FPS, like Half-Life 2, but not a RTS.
World in Conflict... [editline]07:49PM[/editline]
Seriously, this was done probably even before Half-life 2.
Half Life :P
Less effort for more money? Guess I'll use the same method by pirating the cut scenes. (User was banned for this post ("Warez" - TH89))
As long as they don't take the cutscenes out of the games, I don't think there's a problem. The title is really misleading, he's just talking about stitching the cutscenes together to make movies, I think/hope. As far as the black ops comment, they are definitely not the first, although both modern warfare's had surprisingly successful emotional scenes.
If Konami adopted this model they'd make a KILLING with Metal Gear Solid
The thing is metal gear solids cut scenes are kinda worth paying for if you dont have the game, but i can see Activision not including the cut scenes in they're actual games unless you but the "Cutscene included version" or some shit seriously bobby kotick is never satisfied with any amount of money until he has it all.
Kotick is a joke lol
I'm pretty cool with this. I've loved every single one of kotick's business strategies so far, and I'd be incredibly happy to pay for cutscenes. Bravo!
What's the point in buying them if I already have the game, I can just watch them in the game or just go throught the game's files and get the video files then stitch them together with Vegas or something.
Kotick also touted the facial animation and lip-synching technology in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops as a breakthrough for the gaming industry. He said it is the first game where the company has advanced the animation technology far enough "that the lines being delivered are believable." He also said the ability to have characters with whom players could form an emotional connection--the same way they do with characters in movies--was a "Holy Grail" in the industry.
Oh my fucking god. I hate him.
Hahahahahahaha. Excuse me while I pray on my shrine to Hideo Kojima.
somebody honestly needs to assassinate bobby kotick
Hahahahahahaha. Excuse me while I pray on my shrine to Hideo Kojima.
Hehehe. :respek: Activision are a bunch of greedy corporate assholes, I wish the pirates luck.
30 bucks for 20 mins? I can get full movies for 5-10 bucks.
somebody honestly needs to assassinate bobby kotick
Because he tries to make profit but doesn't force anyone to give him money???????? Grow up kid
And then, there was mass piracy.......
Because he tries to make profit but doesn't force anyone to give him money???????? Grow up kid
It's like taking coke and selling bottle and liquid separately.
It's like taking coke and selling bottle and liquid separately.
Yeah so? Doesn't really deserve assassination
No one would be stupid enough to pay for a god damn cutscene.
believe it or not people are a lot stupider than you think.
Yeah so? Doesn't really deserve assassination
Yes he does. He's trying to sell stitched together CG animation for three times as much as it costs to go to a movie theater.
Thirty bucks for a twenty minute scene isn't bad.
Thirty bucks for a twenty minute scene isn't bad.
but a video game cutscene i mean come on are you shitting me
Yes he does. He's trying to sell stitched together CG animation for three times as much as it costs to go to a movie theater.
are you even listening to yourself
Thirty bucks for a twenty minute scene isn't bad.
Please oh please be joking.
