Where does it say $30 for 20 minutes? All I see is $30 for an hour and a half film.
Hahahahahahaha.
Excuse me while I pray on my shrine to Hideo Kojima.
I'm gonna stick with Valve, sorry Activision. Some of your departments are somewhat good, but Bobby is to cancer as /b/ is to the end of 4chan.
(Small joke, don't mean it.)

My wallet is ready.
it's better than unskippable ones
Nobody would pay 30 dollars for an hour and a half long movie experience... seriously we buy movies for like 20 and you get to keep those.
are you even listening to yourself
are you
This is a very good idea if you don't think about it

Yeah I'm wondering this too.
From what I've read, it seems he wants to sell an hour and a half long cutscene for games, basically a movie, for $20-$30.
OP exaggerates title - nerds plan assassination
Corporate bastards know nothing but how to make money.
It should go back to when they just managed the money and pushed papers.

OH, NOW l GET WHY EVERYONE HATES HIM.
Well, if this goes through, I'll no longer be purchasing Blizzard games either.
Who would pay $20 to go see a movie? At most, I've payed $7.50 for movie. And such a movie would definitely get it's ass pirated like crazy.
Thirty bucks for a twenty minute scene isn't bad.
30$> 20 min scene
10$> inception in a theatre: 2+ hours
yeano.
are you
you're the one who wants to murder someone because he wants to make money from a purely optional entertainment form
Half life 1 started it all with the ground breaking lip sync imo.
If you're going to charge me for the cutscenes, then give me the game itself for free.
How dumb can you be?
i'm gonna fucking kill him.
how can someone be so greedy?
He probably feeds on money like vampires feed on blood, causing mayhem and misery where he treads in an effort to sustain his own existence.
Probably time to drive a proverbial stake through his proverbial heart, and boot him out of office. So long as things get better, I don't care if Count Kotick starves.
Tetracycline is right. Kotick's customers make his actions possible. Every time you buy something with "Activision" on the box, you're making shit like this happen.
Want to do something about it? Stop buying products by that fucking company. The problems don't just magically disappear. The customer has the final say.
Which is exactly why I don't buy Activision shit.
ITT: People read the thread title instead of the article.

I don't think the gaming industry has the will or the organization to effectively boycott Activision.
Oh well, I to do not plan on buying another Activision product. They will never earn another cent from me, especially for ramming the Call of Duty franchise into the ground.
Heh, I have never pirated in all my life, but if this happens then :yarr: (or I'll simply skip their shit).
Reading through the article though, it seems they want to make videogame movies, for example have the entire prolouge of Starcraft 3 in a CGI movie. The concept sounds ok but knowing Activision it would probably have stuff that should have been in the game.

I'm really pissed that Activision and Blizzard merged. I don't even know why Blizzard felt the need, they make billions off their games, especially WoW. With bullshit like this from Activision's end, I may be forced to stop enjoying Blizzard's awesomeness.

Blizzard's owners (Vivendi) felt the need.
Imagine paying for all the Final Fantasy cut scenes
I miss the 90s where gaming was so pure and awesome and untouched by faggots like Kotick and Jack Thompson... :smith:
Imagine paying for all the Final Fantasy cut scenes
You already do. That's all FF is.
Because he tries to make profit but doesn't force anyone to give him money???????? Grow up kid
I like it when kids call other people kid to look smart

I see what I did there.
Lets calculate the price for the next COD:
€60 for game
+€30 for the cutscenes
+€20 for monthly fee
+€10/ month for dlc
I bet they even planning to let you pay for updates wich you can't play without.
