So now not only is piracy killing PCs but tablets are too? Damn what is this war.

What?
Piracy is killing PC's?
You must be joking.
So Apple waves it's shiney white-and-chrome dick and says it will slay the mighty PC dragon. This is news?
That's a pretty cumb article. The fact that Windows 7 is the most sold operating system ever, simply shows that this is without any foothold in the real world. At about 500 millions licenses sold, it definetely convenes the message that PC sales are at the very least not going down. Sure, the iPad sells, but people who have an iPad have a PC/Mac along with that device. Almost no exceptions.

No I am being sarcastic.
They keep saying this but they cant prove it. They keep showing iPad sales and how big the number is when in reality, they totally made that story on a desktop in a cubical because the company KNOWS that its cheaper and easier to keep desktops around to keep things running.
If you want to say that the PC is dead, do not put something from apple with it.

you're on a PC gaming forum...
Surely they mean Mac and not PC right?
How the hell does an iPad that can't even do 1/10 of what even a Mac can do, can kill PC?

Most people use pc to do stuff that a tablet can do too.
In the fall, Amazon introduced the iPad’s first credible competitor in the $199 Kindle Fire. Although Amazon does not release sales figures for the device, some analysts estimate it sold about four million in the holiday quarter. Later this year, tablets from a variety of hardware manufacturers based on a new, touchscreen-friendly operating system from Microsoft, Windows 8, could further propel the market.
Any tablet with dedicated USB host functionality > iPad.

We live in a generation where the average dumbass just needs a web browser and they're off.
Angry Birds will keep them entertained too
Any tablet with dedicated USB host functionality > iPad.
My tablet has
USB functionality
Has a Ubuntu installation
HDMI functionality
supports keyboard AND mouse
Expandable memory
etc etc.
And it cost less than an iPad at $320 for a 32GB (heh)
So I got 10x more for less than the price of a 16GB Wi-Fi iPad.
An iPad can't do most of the shit a PC can.
Ahaha.. no.
PC's will never "Decline" only increase as they get better...
Ahaha.. no.

When we manage to shrink technology down to the point where ALL computer chips are small and power is not impacted then yes maybe portable computing will replace desktops. Sadly, we are not at that point, and if power is required then a desktop is really the only option.
I think it's more likely once they get wireless USB working your tablet/phone will be your PC. Just drop it onto a near field display port and it will work exactly like a traditional PC.

Android tablets could do this for ages
I have a usb port in my acer iconia and I can plug in ANY usb device in there. And I mean any, you can use : Mice, Keyboards, Joysticks, 3g modems, flash drives, wireless keyboard adapters
Oh and it also has microsd support and a Hdmi port
For simple things like web browsing it have actually replaced my pc quite easily

A desktop sized cluster of those chips would still be more powerful
And current portable computing is terrible for writing et cetera

A Mac is a PC too so yeah
A Mac is a PC too so yeah
Unless you count FarmVille, a Mac isn't gonna be doing a whole lot of gaming.
This is not a mac gaming forum, what are you on about?
Unless you count FarmVille, a Mac isn't gonna be doing a whole lot of gaming.
Except you know, source games?
Except you know, source games?
Yeah, and Source games are pretty outdated now.
If you want a laptop for gaming, you don't get the $1000 one with a GMA4500. Yes, it is possible, but Macs are not "gaming" machines and aren't designed to be.
People don't feel the need to buy a new PC every time an upgraded model comes out. They either upgrade their PC themselves, or they wait. PCs are also a much bigger investment than iPads. These figures also do not count PCs users assembled themselves. The iPad is just a very expensive toy, and to think for even a moment that it could replace a PC is fucking retarded.
Oh right just like Netbooks were the death of laptops
And laptops were the death of Desktops
I'll remember that
Hilarious joke.
