Did you just underestimate the power and influence of nukes? :wtc:
No, we overestimated the power and influence of a nation with the nuclear capabilities of an Ethiopian family.
If NK fires a nuke, we will conventional weapon the shit out of them. On a side note, does anyone know when the naval rail guns are scheduled for deployment?
Maybe General MacArthur's "Sea of Glass" tactic for the Korean War really wasn't a bad idea.
Maybe General MacArthur's "Sea of Glass" tactic for the Korean War really wasn't a bad idea.
Explain
I have complete confidence that western countermeasures could repel any attempted nuclear attack by North Korea.
You realize it only takes one nuke to make Seoul disappear, right? Missile countermeasures are powerful, but with the insane amount of artillery NK has pointed at SK, war isn't a good option. Obviously we'd win, but death tolls for SK could be in the hundreds of thousands, if not millions.
Eh, the moment the North actually uses a nuke on anything, they'll have every nation on Earth descending on them in an instant.
Explain
The name kind of explains it...
You guys are just ignoring the facts. http://www.korea-dpr.com/ocn/?p=463

They plan for that eventuality like it'll happen tomorrow. South Korea is no where near as inept as it's sibling nation.
Explain
MacArthur's plan was to completely eliminate NK before they could be any more of a pain in the ass. The president should have listened. [editline]11:27PM[/editline] Maybe not a completely nuclear plan, but a heavy conventional strike.
MacArthur's plan was to completely eliminate NK before they could be any more of a pain in the ass. The president should have listened.
You realize the country that attacks first will be looked down upon by the rest of the world right?
Oh Kim Jong Il, you so crazy.
You realize the country that attacks first will be looked down upon by the rest of the world right?
I appended that post.
You realize the country that attacks first will be looked down upon by the rest of the world right?
That will be what will stop this, cause if they attack first, they're gonna be in a world of hurt.
Yes, sure when NK does do something, it'll be the end of them, but you know, NK has to actually do something, and that will end up killing a lot of people, besides NK soldiers.
I am so sick of NK's trolling.
I'm a little uncomfortable with this thought. Sure, I doubt North Korea has the nuclear warhead, missile, fuel, and guidance systems to launch a nuclear attack, but when a country threatens nuclear war in a day or two, it doesn't always end well. Well we've never been in a situation where it did end poorly, but it's not too far fetched.
Explain
Have a look.
NK can't nuke anything. They have like eight nukes while any country they're out to blow up has protection against that shit. Extreme protection.
You don't think Seoul knows about the North Korean artillery? They plan for that eventuality like it'll happen tomorrow. South Korea is no where near as inept as it's sibling nation.
There was a great report on this a while back, but I can't find it for the life of me. Regardless, U.S. counter-artillery batteries can pretty much get a lock on NK artillery and return fire after two or three shells, but each NK artillery piece would get around 5-6 shots off in the time for the artillery shells to hit. Normally this wouldn't be so much of an issue, but North Korea has pointed all those artillery shells at Seoul, and they have an obscene number of artillery pieces (around 3,500). Yes, the counter-artillery batteries are insanely efficient, but the damage caused and lives lost would be tremendous. Obviously a nuke would be an entire order of magnitude separate.
Yeah, NK will totally launch a nuke, causing the nations of Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, Philippines, and the U.S. to declare war on them. Sounds like a good plan.
the us and sk better not back down
Yeah, NK will totally launch a nuke, causing the nations of Japan, South Korea, China, Russia, Philippines, and the U.S. to declare war on them. Sounds like a good plan.
Except no one will declare war on anything, excluding the US
Oh look, North Korea is grasping for attention yet again.
Yeah, North Korea kind of reminds me of Jessi Slaughter that way.
If NK launches a nuke, it will be shot down before it hits anything. If they become aggressive, they'll be torn over. If they declare war, we'll fuck 'em. NK is the shithole of the world and they will stay it. They can't make any moves that wouldn't destroy them in the end.

Sounds like a good plan.
China, Japan and Philippines I doubt would do anything major, if at all. I expect it would mostly be the US and SK against them.

It will cause millions of deaths and will be a huge blow to the economy, possibly even breaking many international trading agreements and in the worst case scenario, the US will be brought to its knees. All from a single nuke. That's a good deal for NK to take (y'know, almost destroying the worlds superpower economically), NK has nothing to lose but its poor country. They dont care if they all die they just want to show the world they have the balls to do something.
Here's my only question: Should I be worried?
Here's my only question: Should I be worried?
It jumps between 'slightly' and 'no'.
Quickest way to fuck up PR for an entire country is "Threaten nuclear holocaust."
