• NK goes there: warns of nuclear "sacred war"

North Korea is like a crazy old man with a handgun. He rambles on and on about how he's going to do something, but at the end of the day he falls asleep in his lazy boy.
Gah every time I see a news article about NK I get a little more scared...
Say, if a nuke is launched and is successfully shot down or what have you, will the rules of NATO apply and will france, the UK, etc join in the US invasion?
Australia, France, Britan and New Zealand I believe. Also, surely the US are probably taking the threat serious and taking precautions incase NK do attempt anything.
Hopefully they carry it out this time. and then get their asses kicked.
Say, if a nuke is launched and is successfully shot down or what have you, will the rules of NATO apply and will france, the UK, etc join in the US invasion?
If it was launched at the US, I believe so, but if it was an action taken against SK and the US comes rushing in to help, then probably not. In that case, a coalition force would have to be formed, again.
Gah every time I see a news article about NK I get a little more scared...
Don't scared man, It's just empty threats.
Say, if a nuke is launched and is successfully shot down or what have you, will the rules of NATO apply and will france, the UK, etc join in the US invasion?
Only if a NATO Country is attacked will Article 5 apply, doesn't matter though since if NK used a Nuclear weapon they would get shit stomped by most of the western world, if they don't just get bombed into oblivion by the U.S/China/Russia.
Australia and New Zealand aren't even in NATO.
Australia and New Zealand have their own seperate agreement with the US.
Japan only has a small defense force. What would it accomplish? It relies heavily on the US for military support. You know that Japan bars all nuclear powered ships from its harbors? Just because they don't want anything to do with nuclear power in their country. You think they're going to go to war with a nuclear power with that kind of attitude?
This is just plain wrong. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_Japan Japan's power is 34.8% nuclear based, and it's the third largest user of nuclear power in the world. Japan does indeed allow ships powered by nuclear reactors into its waters, as well, just recent the USS George Washington left Yokosuka after refitting and maintenance. Bahahaha, North Korea. Can't believe we still take these jokes seriously. But I know Obama is going to prepare accordingly in case something does happen.
Lots of big claims in this thread. Please use citations when stating things like NK having 6 nukes or a shitty delivery system.
brb nuke shelter
If NK even lifted it's finger to fire a nuke the hammer would fall on them so fast. but NK isn't going to do anything, they never do.
hmmm aslong as britain doesnt get pulled into this fight im ok :x
This cant end well for either country. also they should do their best not to piss off china.
Remind me again why an infiltration team of a few snipers was a bad idea first time he opened his mouth?
Because this isn't call of duty.
One can only hope they continue to have failures when launching their Taepodong-2. The US has a couple battalions of Patriot ABM systems deployed in South Korea, but i'm guessing they're not so good for intercepting missiles at launch.
Oh North Korea, I thought by now you've used all your threats, now you're really just sounding like a broken record
Hopefully they carry it out this time. and then get their asses kicked.
Yes, let's look forward to people being killed by a nuclear warhead.
I feel that maybe we should start getting worried now. Even though they have bluffed everything else, maybe we should ready the anti-missile defenses. Just in-case.
The US government appreciates your advice.. without your assistance they might not have known to set up anti-missile defenses. Guys its gonna happen. For real this time. NK never lies about anything and they can totally beat the US in a war. Be afraid..
You have any idea what would happen if they actually managed to land a nuclear warhead in the US? It will cause millions of deaths and will be a huge blow to the economy, possibly even breaking many international trading agreements and in the worst case scenario, the US will be brought to its knees. All from a single nuke. That's a good deal for NK to take (y'know, almost destroying the worlds superpower economically), NK has nothing to lose but its poor country. They dont care if they all die they just want to show the world they have the balls to do something.
You speak as if it's even remotely possible for NK to hit the continental US with a nuclear weapon. Maybe you have some kind of weird fantasy about the USA being brought to it's knees (statue of liberty porn?) but sorry to break it to you, it isn't going to happen, especially from north korea of all places.
Nothing will happen, just like those several other times this has happened.
Remind me again why an infiltration team of a few snipers was a bad idea first time he opened his mouth?
Maybe Captain Price will lead them.
Australia and New Zealand have their own seperate agreement with the US.
Yes, the agreement with Aus and NZ is called ANZUS I believe.
I really think someone should do something about this North Korea thing, Before they accutaly do something.
Oh no, I am so scarred :ohdear:
I call dibs on whatever is left of North Korea when this is all said and done.
I think they have a point
Maybe Captain Price will lead them.
"They've started a bloody countdown!" Anyway, I think it's best to be safe than sorry. Despite the low chance of a missile hitting the US, I doubt NK will be that dumb to attempt to waste a missile on that. Maybe it's the first in the series of events that lead up to war (not necessarily nuclear?)
NK is going to do it. If they don't, Il-Jong is just gonna keep losing his grip on the population. He needs this war.
According to this map: if North Korea were to attack the ships performing the manoeuvres (which I think is most likely - that's the only thing they could do which is even remotely defensible) then the ocean currents would take the fallout to Japan and Vietnam.
