You're missing my point. Fox News' commentary and punditry is biased. Everything on primetime, pre-empting with Beck and continuing with Hannity late into the night, it's all commentary and punditry. So is Hardball. So are The Young Turks. You're only serving to prove the obvious: That Glenn Beck is against Net Neutrality. Yay. He's a commentator. He's biased.
Even what they call "news" is biased. Take the recent poll of teabaggers. They chose to mention that they're better educated than the average American, but they conveniently ignored the fact that many question Obama's status as a native citizen, over 50% think "too much has been made of the problems facing black people", and other things that would reflect poorly upon them.
Hey look, Fox News issuing edicts on how to spin the NEWS during their NEWS PROGRAMMING
Didn't we have Jenkem before?

Don't forget Gmod_Fan77
I dunno... I'm inclined to think Jenkem breaks the record for silliest conservative on facepunch. Gmod and Glaber are like in the lead. HOWEVER, gmod and glaber DO respond back and try to argue.
Gmod_fan isn't even really a consistent conservative He doesn't believe in evolution, but he hates the Iraq war, but he loves Israel I think his strategy is more to take poorly-thought-out positions on everything rather than be party-line
Hey look, Fox News issuing edicts on how to spin the NEWS during their NEWS PROGRAMMING
As for "sharpshooters," I honestly don't see what the big deal is. As for "who's outraged on his behalf," these DEVIOUS internal memos have acknowledged the harsh situation at Gitmo, but brought up a counterpoint in asking where outrage over captive American soldiers is. If you see something wrong with that, please let me know. As for sending these memos out to "pick and choose" stories: Isn't that what every station does? Each station focuses on certain issues. Each station will send out memos to make sure they are addressed, in the way that management sees fit. Paper publications do it too. Outfoxed is pointing out nothing new in terms of media.
~5:00 onward: hey look, Fox's NEWS (not PUNDIT) segments being BLATANTLY PARTISAN! http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-october-29-2009/for-fox-sake-
These are one of the rare times I hate living in Canada.
There's a way to see it if you're not in the US.
As for "sharpshooters," I honestly don't see what the big deal is.
They're explicitly instructing their reporters to positively spin the Iraq war. That's unethical.
As for "who's outraged on his behalf," these slippy and devious internal memos have acknowledged the harsh situation at Gitmo, but brought up a counterpoint in asking where outrage over captive American soldiers is. If you see something wrong with that, Please let me know.
They're using captive soldiers (old news that makes conservatives look good) to divert attention away from CURRENT news that makes conservatives look bad. Instead of sucking up and just, you know, reporting the news they are making a concerted effort to avoid or downplay subjects they don't want people to think about. It's like how, when there's an article about black people being discriminated against in America, the discussion will inevitably turn into "well BLACK PEOPLE CAN BE RACIST TOO! and I hate political correctness!" It's the antithesis of objective reporting. It's unethical.
As for sending these memos out to "pick and choose" stories: Isn't that what every station does?
News stations normally choose news stories based on their newsworthiness, not how well they support a partisan agenda. That would be unethical. Also, way to ignore me for almost a whole page while cherrypicking other people's more easily-refutable examples before responding to one of my examples and ignoring 2 others. 3 now. Fox should hire you.
1% we're fucked
1% we're fucked
huge government death panels communism fascism hurr
News stations normally choose news stories based on their newsworthiness, not how well they support a partisan agenda. That would be unethical.
Well then, frankly, there's not a single ethical journalistic establishment in this country. "Newsworthiness" is in the eye of management. So much for sucking it up.
Also, way to ignore me for almost a whole page while cherrypicking other people's more easily-refutable examples before responding to one of my examples and ignoring 2 others. 3 now. Do you have evidence of them lying about science, or distributing internal memos instructing journalists to spin stories?
Extreme bias.
By that very action they are politicizing it already.
People's premiums jump by double-digits every year, if those expenditures are limited to 1% over ten years I'd call it a smashing success. Glaber, stop trying to turn Facepunch's news section into another Republican mouthpiece like Fox, you're not going to convert anyone here with that bullshit.

Do you have evidence of them lying about science, or distributing internal memos instructing journalists to spin stories?
I find their reporting bias to be on-par with Fox's. As in, it happens, but I'm not cringing as often as with MSNBC or the like. And yes, I do cringe every now and then watching Fox's reporting. Like I said, about as much as with CNN.
MSNBC might lean left but they don't just lie and distort everything completely. CNN is the most unbiased US news channel I have ever seen. They actually talk about NEWS and not bullshit.
Let's hear it, then. What can you accuse Fox News of that I couldn't use against your favorite news channel?
Being a mouthpiece for the republican party
I find their reporting bias to be on-par with Fox's.
I'm not interested in your gut feeling, Stephen Colbert. I'm asking for evidence of intentional spin-as-policy such as Fox's internal memos and blatant lying in news articles.
MSNBC might lean left but they don't just lie and distort everything completely. CNN is the most unbiased US news channel I have ever seen. They actually talk about NEWS and not bullshit.
The Beeb is pretty good.
The Beeb is pretty good.
For web/print news, unadulterated (:foxnews:, I'm looking at you) AP and Reuters reports are good.
As a liberal, I like Fox sometimes. Red Eye has been fucking hilarious, usually when GWAR is on

That has made the maple syrup in my blood boil. I am going to write a strongly worded letter to him so he feels bad about what he's done. Then I'll apologize at the end of the letter.
What the fuck is red eye supposed to be anyways?
