• Obama to exempt nearly 5 million illegal immigrants from deportation
Keep in mind that in July he was going to start using executive powers to handle immigration because House Republican Speaker John Boehner said that the GOP was going to keep blocking votes on any immigration bills that the senate managed to pass. http://facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1405734 so Obama tried to let our representatives do their jobs, but I guess he wasn't satisfied with their performance.
It'll be an even bigger problem when the Republicans take control of the Senate next year. That'll mean they own both the House and Senate. Should be interesting.
What about promoting the culture where buying someone a beer at a bar and having a conversation about life on a smoke is considered normal. That's not a thing in a lot of third world countries, that's even offensive to some people who migrate here. I'm not saying that we should kick people out for that, but if they got a problem with me doing things I consider normal then we got problems.
I... Don't get what this has to do with anything?
If you lose your job to someone who can't speak the language, you probably sucked at your job.
I knew it was going to be something good when I heard my dad yell "Fuck, he is RUINING THIS COUNTRY." :v:
Snip ignore me
If you lose your job to someone who can't speak the language, you probably sucked at your job.
Or the person who didn't speak the language is cheaper to pay.

I'm just concerned about whether this is constitutional or not, seeing as how it's in a very murky gray area. Congress might be a useless sack of shit, yes, but that doesn't excuse Obama issuing an executive order without knowing whether if it's actually within his powers.

He skips right past Congress and does what he wants.
I don't care if they're fucking rich or not, I care if I go to an Indian guy's dealership and get ripped off spending $800 on a car that has a broken transmission because he's doing the same shit he did in India - something that happened to my brother and is probably fraud here and everyone knows is illegal. They don't share all our principles, not all of them are from just India or Asia either, and also I'd probably be happier employed at a nice cozy office job that one of them are working at right now than working at a car dealership. So yeah, It's not all niceties and roses when I walk down the streets of the RTC and get glared at for having a beer from some chick with hijab around her head.
Holy fuck you're racist [editline]20th November 2014[/editline]
Why do you rate him dumb and try to refute his point with anecdotal evidence?
Cause I know this fucking dude; we go to college together. Saying you "hate immigrants" is fuckin racist dude. There's no point to refute: he's a bigot.
Holy fuck you're racist
It's not really racism. I mean honestly, if I came in and said "Mexicans are only good at landscaping"(Example, no racism intended) it's racist, but simply by saying that standards in India don't fit standards of America isn't racism.
It's sad that we have to go executive orders so Congress stops fucking around
It's sad that we have to go executive orders so Congress stops fucking around
I mean, It's congress, One owned by Democrats, One by Republicans, and the Executive is democrat, it's really all of their faults they can't compromise on anything.
It's not really racism. The arguments these fucking anti-immigrant people are retarded. "Oh im getting glared at for drinking a beer in public by some girl in a hijab". Fucking deal with it! She can glare at you all she fucking wants it's a free country. They don't care about peoples' well-being, they're just afraid of "muh culture" now excuse me if I sound a little pissed, but my girlfriend is an immigrant. My grandma is an immigrant from germany. more than half my friends are immigrants. The college I go to? mostly immigrants. They're great people. They're not annoying, they've never tried to "rip me off", and nobody has given me any shit for having cultural differences. so when some dickhead comes out saying "I hate immigrants", I take it a little personally. I try to take the middle road in some circumstances, but fuck that, I'm going to say my opinion definitively: If you say you "hate immigrants", you're what's wrong with America, and should fuck off back to Mississippi or Tennessee or some shit.
What about promoting the culture where buying someone a beer at a bar and having a conversation about life on a smoke is considered normal.
Ah yes, the rich culture of Platitudistan. How I remember my days in humble Triteville, playing catch on the lawn of my dad, singing carols door to door, and staying up late on Fridays watching my favorite jeans commercials.
Dude. I would be racist if I were saying I hate (x color/group people) because they're (some deficiency). I'm saying they're not like us, in that they don't share the same values. And that's a problem. Also this area is way too fucking liberal for reasons like this. Sue me.
That's NOT a problem. That's what's AWESOME about immigration, you don't have to be stuck doing the same shit, eating the same food, watching the same things, talking to the same people, believing the same things for the rest of your life. That's the whole point of America!

Yet someone from, say, the EU can't work there without going through a million hoops, company sponsorships and paying large amounts in bureaucracy fees.

Call it xenophobic instead of racist if you like, doesn't make it any better.
Well no he insinuated that Indian immigrants have less integrity and are more likely to scam you than American-born people. Call it xenophobic instead of racist if you like, doesn't make it any better.
I guess you're right, but semantics aside, fuck people who "hate immigrants".
now excuse me if I sound a little pissed, but my girlfriend is an immigrant. My grandma is an immigrant from germany. more than half my friends are immigrants. Did they enter legally? It's not a fucking big deal if they entered legally. As long as they're not criminals. Guys from India coming in and selling cars that are considered legal in their country but not in America is a crime. Not everyone is a fucking mechanic. Most people go to a dealership "This car is nice" -signs paperwork, drives away- boom, done.
-snip-
And especially because dealers that are not large massive dealerships, which in this came seems to be what's going on, it's going to be a used car, maybe a 2005 and older kind of place.
Can we get back to the actual topic of this thread rather than discussing used cars?
Because his brother didn't have the common sense to look at the fucking car before he bought it, all indians are rotten and plaguing our culture? Furthermore, my interpretation of his story is why should we take in people who are going to do bad things in our society? It is not our duty to take in immigrants, the whole point of our immigration system is to prove that you are of worth to this country (for example educated people get permanent residence with higher priority) and if you are just going to commit crimes against legal citizens, then why have you in our country at all? Also can you have a rational debate without getting your feelings hurt?
No. That's not fucking awesome. Tell me the last time you walked down the Annandale Campus and overheard someone talking about going to Iraq and bombing people because I'll attest that that's happened.
I've NEVER heard anybody talk about committing acts of terrorism.
Tell me why I go to the store and can't understand what the hell half of the cashier is saying
Because you're too selfish to take a few seconds to try to understand someone else and their point of view. God how can people be this fucking ignorant? You literally hate someone because they're different. And you're old enough to vote.
If I have a personal problem, then that's my personal problem on why I dislike diversity, not something to bring up in a debate on the internet.
Yeah well your personal problems are asinine and childish.
I already said that I believe they should stay on principle, I don't have to like them.
yeah and I don't have to fucking like that you don't like them. How can you go through life hating people? Living in our area, you must be pissed off all the time. What's the fucking point? Just be cool. Why do you have to hate?
For those who haven't watched msnbc recently, I want you to hear through the entire 4 minutes and 19 seconds of Rep. Luiz Gutierrez about what is currently happening. I want you to be informed. http://www.msnbc.com/msnbc/watch/gutierrez-to-gop--call-us--were-ready-to-work-361564739827 Not sure how I can get a video link out of this, but it leads to a video.
It isn't really the fact that someone is glaring at you that hurts, it is more like the feeling of being a stranger in your own country because immigrants made no effort to assimilate.
you ARE a stranger to that person. Not everybody has to think the same shit as you. If I wear a pro-obama or pro-romney t-shirt and someone makes some stupid comment I'm not gonna hate them for it, and I'm not gonna blame their upbringing; they've got a different belief than me. so what? I doubt they hate me and I know that I don't hate them. Why is hate necessary because someone thinks differently? It's a problem.
Furthermore, my interpretation of his story is why should we take in people who are going to do bad things in our society?
We shouldn't! so the ones that commit murder or rape and the like shouldn't be allowed in. You shouldn't hate someone or deport them because they don't think you should drink alcohol. That's not harmful to society; hate is harmful to society.
It is not our duty to take in immigrants, the whole point of our immigration system is to prove that you are of worth to this country (for example educated people get permanent residence with higher priority)
The point of immigration is to give a person an opportunity to make a better life for themselves, not make a better life for me. It would be hypocritical to expect anything else because we don't expect anything else from natural born citizens.
and if you are just going to commit crimes against legal citizens, then why have you in our country at all?
Who's talking about crime? I'm just talking about perfectly legal, hard working Americans who just want a better life for themselves or their family. These people believe different things or speak different languages. Guess what, I took the time to try to learn Korean because I want to experience things other than what I've experienced for 19 years. If the cashier speaks with an accent, I just take a little bit of extra effort to understand them and make sure they understand me
Also can you have a rational debate without getting your feelings hurt?
if you were a jew, or married to one, and I said "I fucking hate jews, they're brought up in a culture where the try to rip people off", you'd be pretty fucking pissed. Every girl I've dated has been an immigrant. Most of my friends are immigrants. My grandmother on my mom's side is an immigrant. At some point, we were all immigrants, so it's hard not to take it personally when someone insults everybody you know and love just because of some dumbass assumption he's made about them because he had one bad experience and decided that everybody is bad because of that.

I honestly don't know if you realized that this bill is mostly for ILLEGAL immigrants. If your family entered the legal way, sure, stay, go right ahead, but seriously, you're freaking the fuck out for nothing.
