are there any religions that actually forbid organ donation I know some forbid receiving transplants/blood transfusions but do they also say you can't give them away after you die
The Bible doesn't actually forbid abortions, but nobody really cares, do they? Religion is a weird thing
This is ok; it's not like you need your internal organs in order to pass over or anything, especially since the "soul" is utterly annihilated when you die. If you were on the Moon you wouldn't even have the option to opt out, since in a contained self-sustaining environment with almost no cheap imports, it would frankly be illegal to let all those proteins and minerals go to waste, when they could be used for actual important things that the colony needs in order to survive. So yeah, it doesn't matter what you believe; one way or the other the colony will reclaim those resources. With the exception of the head if you can afford an emergency transplant onto an appropriate life support machine, since if your body isn't going to make it but the head is perfectly fine, you might as well get it connected to life support.
Kind of sets the precedent that apparently you are owned by the state. Whatever don't really care that much I'd be dead anyway.

Not sure if all Jehovah's witnesses believe that though.
You'd have to be a right twat to opt out.
Religious beliefs or having illnesses that make you unsuitable makes you a right twat.
I wonder how better the world would be if EVERYONE donated their organs and cremated every time.
No zombies.
Religious beliefs or having illnesses that make you unsuitable makes you a right twat.
Not gunna bring up the religious side but an illness would be on your health record so you don't opt out by yourself - you're just not chosen.
What are you even on about?
Nobody ever knows what he's on about, though he's certainly "on" something.
I opted in when I got my license because I was given the choice, but for some reason no star or organ donor indication was on my license when I got it in the mail, so I guess I'm technically not a donor.
You'd have to be a right twat to opt out.
IMO bring in a name and shame for people who opt-out
You'd have to be a right twat to opt out.
I'm freezing myself along with my wife in a cryogenics chamber. There are certain exceptions but really, how many people are going to be doing what I'm doing?
In Canada (at least where I live) they have these little cards when you go to renew your license that you sign and check little boxes stating whether you want to donate any needed organs, certain ones or even the purpose those organs go towards (transplant, medical education, scientific research). I know it's a personal choice but I can't think of any logically sound reason (religion aside) against organ donation. It's not like you'll need them and you could save someone's life in the process. The idea that doctors will let someone die if they're an organ donor is quite silly. Why would they let someone die to save the life of another person who is also dying? Seems kind of counterproductive. That and if it were true I would've been "6 feet under" years ago.
I'm freezing myself along with my wife in a cryogenics chamber. There are certain exceptions but really, how many people are going to be doing what I'm doing?
Current cryogenics methods are a scam, the Cryoprotectants that they inject in the brain, don't actually preserve the neurons. There's no chance of recovery.
