Really? I though Microsoft didn't let Valve add any updates to the Orange Box's TF2 because of MS's greedy politics regarding DLCs
The updates are available as DLC.
The updates are available as DLC.
Really? I had no idea. When did they add them? They are free to download?
It has the class updates. The PS3 version is update free, and despite what many people believe, is generally bug free. The only issue on the PS3 orange box is that EP2 lags occasionally.
Hu... come again? It has the class updates? Since when? [editline]5th December 2010[/editline] No DLC listed... I had over 1k hours on TF2 before Mannco Update. I just cried manly tears because I knew they killed the game for me.
something about appreciating this!
Why so many people see unlocks as the demonic spawn of the antichrist in the game? I think they are the least bad thing that TF2 has. Ok, I'll keep being an horrible player because I'm using my Homewrecker and my Flare Gun and I'm only supossed to spycheck :v:
no, that's not what it is. whenever any of those stupid updates came out, most of the people in the server would play as whatever character that was. it was god damn annoying having a shit load of pyros or heavies or snipers, really killed it for me.
[img_thumb]http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/3/30/Tf2_oldstyle.jpg[/img_thumb] Nope. TFC was the shit, this would of been awesome.
we've got incoming
I think after the unlocks they should've stopped with most of the updates.
no, that's not what it is. whenever any of those stupid updates came out, most of the people in the server would play as whatever character that was. it was god damn annoying having a shit load of pyros or heavies or snipers, really killed it for me.
Oh, you meant that: crazes of people that want to try out the new weapons and every server is filled with only one/two class, I know, I've suffered them during the WAR/Engineer update and mostly after the MannConomy. It's funny for a while but it gets really annoying when you try to play seriously. The problem vanishes the next day (Or the followings), so it's not really bad for me.
It was simple and to the point, none of this hat nonsense. I was about two teams squaring off against each other and fighting it out, now it's about who can collect the most hats and who's the biggest achievement whore.
He said pre-release TF2 though, not vanilla.
It will certainly be interesting to see where they go with this beta business. I stopped playing TF2 right around the Demoman and soldier updates. Now, when I try out TF2 I don't even know what I'm playing any more. In fact, I actually feel overwhelmed because it doesn't feel like I can just pick up and play a few rounds of 2fort any more with all the hats and custom weapons and whatever the hell else I've missed these many months.
I don't get what the problem with hats and the mannconomy update are. People are obsessed with hats but that shouldn't bother your game, that's their own problem, like people wasting money on hats or keys or whatever in the store doesn't affect your game. The closest that hats are to affecting the game are the set bonuses, and even then those are barely bonuses compared to other weapon combinations available.
How are hats ruining the game? Like, You barely see those! Just play. I like that the game isn't so serious. It is better than other game because you have HATS, what don't do anything! Isn't that great? Why was Beta so large anyways?
I have no single hat.
It's a little ad; my brother is the typical hat fanatic who preorders games and tries to get me to do shit just to get hats. I'm playing the XBL version, regardless of a how bad the players are. I always liked that version better after the hat updates because we actually played the game and every other server wasn't full of idles. [editline]5th December 2010[/editline] It's a little annoying Why can't we edit here?
It's a little annoying Why can't we edit here?
I think it has something to do with the forum software. I happen to be on a smaller forum with the same interface as this one and you cannot edit your own messages in the news section either. It's REALLY annoying.
Quite fucking honestly, I prefer the Natascha as it is. If you get killed by a heavy using it, don't get in his way.
Dear Valve, please implement a way for servers to be run in vanilla mode.

Email them about it. If they get tons of emails asking for it, I'm sure they will do something.
Jesus christ Installing it right now. The closer I am to vanilla TF2, the better it is.
The "Beta" is actually incredibly buggy from the matches I have played so far.
I honestly don't have a problem with the mann-co store, or the fact that there are so many weapons and hats. I feel like the game is still balanced, but it has become a lot more complicated, to say the least. I feel like the game has way too much crap in it for a game that was made to be simple.
Is there a way to play a TF2 variant in which there are only achievement unlockables? [editline]5th December 2010[/editline] Also I lost a lot of interest in TF2 when the Mann Co. store came out. Along with all this hat coloring and whatnot. It seemed to distract players from the actual game.
I don't care about hats i mean its ok when you get one but its not really essential to gameplay and it is true that there are to many weapons but i still do enjoy tf2 the thing is i don't even use the new weapons at all i use mainly the vanilla weapons like Sasha, shotgun , Rocket launcher.
"And while we’re perfect most of the time, we occasionally get something wrong" in my opinion every update since and including the character achievements/unlocks has been dreadfully wrong [editline]4th December 2010[/editline] cool rated dumb for having an opinion. heaven forbid anyone has an opinion that counters yours
IMO the updates were fine until the scout update Everything after that has been shit
Is there a way to play a TF2 variant in which there are only achievement unlockables?
The Open Beta :v:

Also @BANNED USER, the beta for me is more stable than normal TF2, in that it doesn't crash every 10 minutes.
I get more fps in Beta TF2 and less lag actually its very optimized imo didn't valve said they gonna completely overhaul TF2 and optimize it ?
If only TF2 would revert to it's old ways, which was what I was thinking as I clicked this thread for the first time. :frown: But really, I played the current TF2 at a friends house and it sucked. Nobody was really playing the game and it was more about the hats. They were fun and cool at first but now that the players foam to their mouths over it they are just fucking annoying and they pretty much ruined the game.
