So they fixed iTunes, then instead of implementing the fix they made it a streaming service? It still leaves people with iTunes which needs to die by fire
So they fixed iTunes, then instead of implementing the fix they made it a streaming service? Couldn't possibly be as bad as iTunes Radio.
my main gripe with iTunes on windows is how RAM and CPU hungry it gets. it's perfectly functional, but it lacks native FLAC on top of the optimization issues. apple don't make good windows software
I prefer sticking to my good old MP3, FLAC and M4A files :v: (among others) Haven't really found a reason why I would want to switch to a streaming service. And there's like 0% chance they'd even have what I listen to.
you would be surprised what Spotify and iTunes carry
you would be surprised what Spotify and iTunes carry
Last time I checked, Spotify didn't even have Ramona Falls. And I seriously doubt any of them have even 20% of my enormous collection of video game music :v:

If it doesn't have something I want, I can just upload it to my library myself.
Stuff like this is why I like Google Play Music so much. If it doesn't have something I want, I can just upload it to my library myself.
That sounds pretty incredible :o
That sounds pretty incredible :o
Not that I'm jumping on the Apple Music train just yet (or any streaming service for that matter), but I think it can do it as well. Or maybe I just misunderstood what they said - reading the live blogs was more confusing than normally.
I was against streaming music for a while too, I've got a 32gb iPod so why would I need to waste my phone battery on that Then I realised I hate listening to the same albums over and over again, not to mention it's so much easier to stream an album and decide I don't like it compared to "obtaining" it via the internet and then deleting it later when it sucked Seriously try the free trial out for spotify, I got 7 days free and then 30 days free when I started paying, found so many artists I like within such a short space of time
That sounds pretty incredible :o
It's really nice having all my personally owned music and streaming music together in one place.
that's the single most compelling argument for google play music i've heard
You can do that with Xbox Music as well - really think Microsoft should push their service more than they do.
i still got Google Play for 7.99$/month don't really see a reason to switch to apple or others yet.
I actually still haven't tried the trial of Google Play music, guess I'll start now
that's the single most compelling argument for google play music i've heard
upload up to 50,000 songs. Flac/MP3/Whatever as long as it isn't super long (I think like 2 hrs?) and you can re-download your library back whenever you want. So lets say you destroyed your computer, your music is saved on googles servers. If you just have plain MP3 files it also tries to find out what songs they are and if they are already on google play's servers it just replaces it with that version when you stream it. If you decide to use it you can import your entire iTunes library, including playlists. It also includes the Music Service on youtube (Youtube Music key), where it will not give you ads for music on youtube's android app, allow you to play it in the background on your phone, Offline video downloads for music on phone, and more. And there are rumors for a Movie Service coming to google play soon. Google Play master race.
Spotify has a $5 student discount, so I'm sticking with that. Can you scrobble with Google Play?

It's what iTunes Match always did but it's being integrated tino this.
i cant wait until it launches with a few bugs then people come to bash on it because its apple then backpedal under the guise of constructive criticism [sp2]look at threads for the apple watch if you wanna see what i'm talking about[/sp2]
I think Spotify have started to fix their UI, in the latest update they brought back ctrl+F for example.
The recent iOS update makes spotify look so much nicer tbh [t]http://i.imgur.com/Jf1mCka.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/kNk4Zy1.jpg[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Shg3DFe.jpg[/t]
The recent iOS update makes spotify look so much nicer tbh
It looks fine, but if you save a lot of music it's a slow, unorganised mess. I save a lot of music for offline viewing so at launch it always takes a long time to load, and if you want to view the saved albums of artists you can't really do it easily. I just want to be able to go artist -> album for what I've saved but clicking an artist just brings a giant list of all the songs you've saved and you have to do two more button presses to get to the artist page where it's actually organised somewhat decently.
Spotify has a $5 student discount, so I'm sticking with that. Can you scrobble with Google Play?
Too bad that discount is USA only
Also for people thinking about Google play music: If you have a chromecast go to the app> check offers you can try All access for 3 months for free. You can also FOR FREE upload a shit ton of songs and stream your own music on any device with the play music app . All access is great (Google PM) I have all my own music (weird ass bands) and streamed music together, great stuff. I can advise it to anyone and if you use the Chromecast 3 months free trial I believe you can still get it for 7.99/month instead of a tenner. It' works beautiful and high quality streams. It does everything even create mixes for you (instant mix), really go ahead and try it! (If you buy a chromecast for 25$ you get 3 months trial and a chromecast = really worth having so go and run to a store)

Also saving offline albums is only possible on mobiles and not possible on Windows, that pisses me off a bit because I've got so many albums I'd download to my PC whereas my phone just doesn't have the storage. However, for the most part Spotify is all I need. I'd use gmusic if they had a feature to import spotify playlist and a win32 app as well bc I'm not fond of using HTML5 Browser programmes

That being said I don't know of any other streaming services that provide offline saving for desktop so I guess it's better than nothing. Plus it caches your already-played tracks so that's something. Are there no apps/wrappers for GPM on Windows besides using it as a Chrome app? Mac has Radiant Player which looks really nice and has made me consider switching to GPM in the past, but their iOS app is really stuttery and lacks scrobbling so that sort of kills it for me, which sucks because their management of offline albums is way better than Spotify's.
Why™ do® we® need™ so® many™ music streaming services®®®™™
