How many Jews are there in the world? How many nonJews? Simple math should tell everyone that resistance is futile. The future for everyone except the Chinese is assimilation. I think that the Chinese have high enough numbers AND are still not mingling with outsiders that much, so that they can retain an unique identity long enough. Long enough for what? The day that humanity moves out into other interstellar bodies(planets/moons/space stations/etc). When that day comes the rest of the world will share one new home, the Chinese will undoubtedly choose to go to their own.

I don't get why "Jews" are a race, but "Christians" aren't. Judaism is supposed to be a religion, isn't it? So why then is there this construct of the Jewish "race?" Does this mean that people can't convert to Judaism? Do they have to be born into it or something, or are converts not "real Jews?"

The only reason why they are considered a separate "race" is because historically they have never been accepted by most European populations. Today, the concept of a separate Jewish race is all but disappearing due to increased acceptance. In the U.S., you'd be hard pressed to find someone who says otherwise save for racist conspiracy nutbags. the same thing happened with the Irish and Italians years ago.
