Why do Germans still get upset about the Swastika? It's coming to near a 75 years since the war and they're still really anal about it.
I think the swastika is a fucking awesome logo, it's just the association with Nazis doesn't realy give it a good image.
Because we're afraid of our own history and slowly come to lose our culture as well. "History? OH MA GOSH, MAKE IT STOP!" - Oh and the swastika is a forbidden symbol - at least in the version the nazis used it.
Even the Romans went mad for the Nazis.

Why Eva would someone be so cruel? I guess the guy that did it didn't Heer his boss during the meeting on tolerance.
I had a feeling you were Goering to say that. And I agree. . .Nazi puns only panzer to the lowest common denominator. Why anyone would jews to make light of something reich this is beyond me.
Go focke-wulf I was going to make a Goering pun.
I agree, most germans are really butthurt about it, even the younger generations. I live in Austria right at the border of Germany. I talked to a lot of people about this topic, they immediatly take you for a nazi because you talk about World War II. They are also change the topic fastly.
It was a tragedy and nothing can be done to unchange it, people should definitly move on.
I'd very much Lerche to see the some pictures of the stuff.
I draw swastikas all the time and if someone gets butthurt I tell him that Its a religious symbol
I am allowed to say that, I live here
Still doesn't make it right.
Germany STILL isn't trusted with things like a military because of World War II.

That's quite exaggerative. The difference between defence force and army is in title only.
I wonder how much paper was wasted

I think I have a good reason, after 22 years in this country.
I cant say I trust the site, I mean, some of them are quite serious and its only that site that tells the story.

It's not just them, it's most of Europe. World War II was the most destructive war in history, and its effects are still lingering to this day. People who fought in it, or suffered from it are still alive, and the Nazis (whom the German people, for the most part anyway, elected into power) were not exactly known for their kindness in the countries they occupied.
Some people simply can't move on as easily as others. I don't necessarily find that a negative quality (on an national level anyway), but it's certainly no boon. Yes, people should move on, but that's easier said than done in this case.
It's especially the case with Asia. Relations between Japan and the rest of Asia has improved quite a bit over the years but there's still a certain amount of frostiness when dealing with Korea and China. Then there's the whole deal with Japanese history textbooks and so on...but different continent, different story.
Those dastardly Swedes.
I think the best explanation of why they're still upset about it is within the plot of the movie "The Wave".
yes it takes place in a 1970s high school but it's a damn good explanation on how the Nazis became what they were and why Germany breaks down in tears whenever someone mentions the word "heil".
oh god I remember that movie
was fucking weird
I remember this foreign exchange student at my old HS was German and when I was looking at his fb page I noticed one of his 'likes' was 'Jews' :v:
They are really paranoid there.

I agree, but this was done intentionally to mock them so I can understand the German company not liking it.
Besides, someone was drawing on paper they were purchasing, I'd be pretty angry even if the drawing was harmless.

You should have faceraped him with something like: "Goosh when will the new Hitler arise so we can get rid of the last jews". Then watch him as he will be banished from Germany.

Our foreign exchange Germans were the exact opposite. My holocaust jokes were lacking until they told me some good ones.
Swastikas are actually signs of peace in India, where Hitler got them from.
