I've got some bitcoins, I am really really happy I got them.
How do Bitcons work anyway? I've heard of them but never looked into it
might take you up on buying your bitcoin again, but probably just 10-15 dollars worth
safe just pm me
90 dollars? holy fucking shit [editline]27th March 2013[/editline]
i mined a shitton in 2009. i have 780 BTC  i think i should sell some
right now you're looking at about 70k
i mined a shitton in 2009. i have 780 BTC  i think i should sell some
according to a converter you have 68,380 USD fuck you
Why on earth did i have to sell most of mine when it was £30 per coin.
Because you were getting actual money out of it. Don't feel bad you're not riding a wave like this. It's very risky, even in my view, and I think Bitcoins are awesome.
90 dollars? holy fucking shit [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] right now you're looking at about 70k
Turing already sold a lot of his buttcoins.
I knew I should have bought when they were hanging around $40 fuck. Does anyone think it's worth buying now?
Turing already sold a lot of his buttcoins.
update i had in total 11k bitcoins about 65% trying to sell a load and distribute i put 30k in my bank account, got called to cops bank account is suspended right now im just trying to make my money safe, and not lose it to some shady corruptass policmen or some shady websites either
Did they really suspend your bank account? [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] You should've did it in $5k increments or something
yeah i shouldn't have just dumped like 30k dollars on a bank account that previously hosted about 700 dollars oh well
please stop it hurts that i sold my 129 when they were dropping below $10 please
Fuck balls. Next time this drops I am DEFINITELY in on it. I said this the last time, but it didn't look like it'd bubble again.
Its up to £59.49 or $89.01 now Wish I'd seen this sooner
Main reason I didn't was because all the mtgox user info was leaked shortly before I registered and I decided it was too shady.
Did they really suspend your bank account? [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] You should've did it in $5k increments or something
That would look like the stupidest attempt at money laundering ever. The best thing to do is phone your bank ahead of time and tell them to expect a large deposit, if they ask about it just tell them the truth. Electronically transferring tens of thousands of dollars out of nowhere looks really shady.
Bitcoin is at $90 and still rising. If you bought 10 BC back when there was a "crash" (not a crash) 2-3 weeks ago at $40 and sold them now, you would've easily made $500 net profit.
god damnit
I think I am going to invent a time machine just so I can mine again in 2009.
Bitcoin: Putting 15 year olds in Ferrari's since 2011. Looking at this graph of all-time bitcoin prices: I really don't think this rise will sustain itself more than a few weeks/months at best. It might go higher than it is currently though. Possibly over £100. I'd expect them to drop to around £10 or lower again anytime soon and probably rise again in a couple of months.
Once it crashes, it's gonna crash hard.
I envy you rich fuckers
I think I am going to invent a time machine just so I can mine again in 2009.
tbh i'd just go back a week with the lottery numbers [editline]27th March 2013[/editline] and then go back to 2009 with £15m worth of gpus.... [editline]28th March 2013[/editline]
I knew I should have bought when they were hanging around $40 fuck. Does anyone think it's worth buying now?
if u have money that u can throw away go for it but remember even if u do make mad stax, you're trusting some fat idiot(s) in a basement office to wire you the real money back.
I think BTC is really just a bit of fun for people to mess around with investing and speculating. As a currency, it'd be fucking whack to start accepting these for anything. Someone would buy a game on Steam for $50 in BTC and the next day the same amount of BTC would be worth $15. Meaning the company would likely need to hire a BTC market analyst just to actually get value out of what was going on. Stability is needed for BTC to become useful for anything - until then it's a speculative toy, and a great way to make big bucks if you're daring and patient.
Looks like everyone is gonna buy after it crashes, will this affect the economy if lots of people do this?
Yep
Looks like everyone is gonna buy after it crashes, will this affect the economy if lots of people do this?
It will reboost the value.
and a great way to make big bucks if you're daring and patient.
and again, has anyone except turing actually received a large transfer here? especially now? mtgox are a bunch of idiots, people seem to be waiting for weeks, months, ever to actually get their real money. plus, most places have withdrawal limits. what're gonna do, withdraw $1000 a day for the next 6 months, assuming they last that long? or week whatever they have it at? does their validation scheme work? how long does it take to get processed? come to think of it, does anyone have any stories about somebody who actually got real money from this, in their real bank account and bought real cars and real houses, especially in the recent weeks? all i see is a bunch of complaints saying their transfers aren't arriving. [editline]28th March 2013[/editline] turning already got lucky and sold in the first crash and received cash as far as i know, hopefully he'll get what he's owed again. i reckon there's gonna be a lot of very disappointed people soon however. if the exchanges fail, which they most likely will due to being absolutely shit then you're gonna have to do a lot of work to sell your million bitcoins, by which time they may be worth nowt. maybe if the bitcoin software had it's own live exchange there wouldn't be a problem, no idea how real money would get exchanged however.
Looks like everyone is gonna buy after it crashes, will this affect the economy if lots of people do this?
The exchange is a system that enables the price of a good to adjust to match the demand (and supply) of a market. If lots of people start buying due to high demand (such as after a crash), the price goes up. If people suddenly decide this bitcoin thing isn't worth holding onto, they sell and the price drops. Anyways, updated OP with a new chart [editline]27th March 2013[/editline]
and again, has anyone except turing actually received a large transfer here? especially now? mtgox are a bunch of idiots, people seem to be waiting for weeks, months, ever to actually get their real money. plus, most places have withdrawal limits. what're gonna do, withdraw $1000 a day for the next 6 months, assuming they last that long? or week whatever they have it at? does their validation scheme work? how long does it take to get processed? come to think of it, does anyone have any stories about somebody who actually got real money from this, in their real bank account and bought real cars and real houses, especially in the recent weeks? all i see is a bunch of complaints saying their transfers aren't arriving. Of course it's possible to make insane returns, it's just that nobody can predict the future, and hindsight is 20/20.
